External filler - under bumper on PVC

Looks a bit low, I'd worry going over speed humps and boarding ferries.
My filler is pretty much in the same location on a 6.3M Ducato. I have used the van for 8000 miles and 5 full months on the road with quite a few ferries since installation and never had an issue with it grounding at all. In fact, the structure of the towbar is lower than the filler... It also is great for filling, as a pump hose will usually reach from either side. Works a treat and with no holes to cut in the bodywork....

Topped up our 2x11kg Gaslows yesterday. One cylinder had not been used and was turned off but the system still took 32l so now I need to see what's going on 🤔🤔

Gaslows do of course get filled with the bottle gas supply turned off, so if there was any gas needed in the unused bottle it would have topped it up. Only explanation I can think of - that the unused bottle wasn’t full.

Is it easy to fill there - or does the tow at impede it in any way?
We have the same bracket as you and in 5,000 miles it has not been a problem. It is not the lowest point on our PVC as we have a towbar and a Memo Van Swing. The tow bar ball hitch bracket is lowest point.

Why can't you put it in the bumper, ? No problems then and also out of sight.

Thats where mine is. I’ve also seen them fitted in place of the reflector below the rear light assembly - very neat.

Looks good. It wouldn't work for us because we have the VanSwing that goes across that area.
I did look at placing the connector below the rear light but VanBitz fitted the Raptor LEDs there.
The bracket underneath works fine for us and can be accessed with the bike carrier and bikes mounted. The other options would not have worked in that scenario in any case.

SNAP!

Professionally fitted Gas-it system in our PVC. Filler point on the nearside, between the reflector and the rubber bump-stop. Works well for us and provides a neat and discreet job; and easily accessible to fill. (y) :giggle:

Not sure I'd be entirely comfortable with the filler point hanging underneath the rear bumper...?

But hope it works OK for the OP.
