Lots now
After a significant bill from Northern commercials at the beginning of the week we are finishing the week with a call into premuim motorhomes in bawtry to fix a couple of silly broken bits window catch, sticking door etc.
We had stored our motorhome as we have been travelling since Christmas in mexico and America.
I had to charge the engine battery to get it started and noticed the leisure batteries were severely depleted, placed on hook up overnight but after another night without hookup they didn't even last till morning I knew we have a problem.
Anyway still awaiting the diagnosis from premuim (Currently sat in there nearly refurbished customer area).
New batteries can be expensive but let's see.

Sorry to hear of the battery woes Gareth & Philip. :( Couldn't the solar input keep both banks topped up, whilst you were away?

Glad to see you are getting sorted out.

Safe crossing on Sunday. (y) See you at Swaffham if you are going to that one again. :)

Jock & Rita. :)
The batteries were so goosed we would run out of power during the night even after a 6pm park up.

So they were goosed before you went to the USA and Mexico then, hence the panels not keeping them topped up whilst in storage?

Unlucky. :(

Or they ran down whilst in storage and it damaged them beyond use.

Yes, but something must have drained them down that far.
With the panel above the door turned off, which normally takes 0.5A, we have no drain whatsoever on the hab batteries. The alarm does impact on the starter battery, but with the battery master fitted, that counteracts any drainage. (y)

I'm just concerned that there may be a constant drain somewhere, which if not found, may impact the new batteries next time you store the MH. :(

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Even with the panel off ours takes about 25 amps per day, so if it’s more than a couple of weeks in the shed I trip the power supply from the batteries and leave them sitting at about 80% it will last months like that.

I forgot to trip the power supply. So they had a constant drain. I know now going forward duh.

Good grief Martin, whatever is on to use up that amount of power on a daily basis? :Eeek:

No wonder you've got lithiums. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

I don't know but we are not alone ;) could be the radio head unit as that is off the Lithiums, not a problem when we are outside and making 160ah per day.
