What's the furthest anyone has travelled in their motorhome? I've been looking at maps of the world and wondering how far you could get before arriving at an un-crossable border or war zone? I assume I could drive to Georgia or even Azerbaijan, although I'm not entirely sure how do-able it would be in an A-Class. I know there are overlanders in big trucks that have done this, but has anyone ventured out of the eastern side of Turkiye before? That appears to be the only route where you may be able to leave mainland Europe now that Russia is a no go zone!

Austin Vince, he's a teacher, we,(eldest son and me ) did one of his events in the Pyrenese. He's a nutter, we practically had to write a hundred lines because we broke some time constraint.

Was the Pyrenees trip good

Whilst waiting for the Russia/Mongolia border to open I chatted to a Dutch driver of a motorhome. He had travelled all the way from Holland but had to turn around because he had to get back home in time to start the new term . We were in a Ford Transit minibus which made it all the way to Ulannbattaar.
I've done that route and all the way down to Singapore by train and loved every minute of it. But driving as far as possible really appeals. The old hippy route or silk road going back further has always held some intrigue for me. Thanks everyone for the replies and the various YouTube suggestions. Some Christmas viewing methinks!

Back in 2002 a young lady by the name of Maureen Middleton drove to China in her Elddis motorhome, this is all I can find now but there used to be loads of pics about it on the web...

Watching a young couple on their YouTube channel " Lavi and Ollie" who are circumnavigating the world on a motorbike. In series 5 they have flown their bike from South Korea to Vladivostok and ridden through Russia to Mongolia. It's amazing how friendly the locals in both countries have been. Mongolia looks amazing.

PS Another vite for Itchy Boots.

Can confirm that Mongolians (the ones we met at least) are wonderful people and that country is indeed stunning (and we were there in January!). Spent a few days with some nomads who spoke little English and it's one of my most cherished memories from our TransMongolian rail journey in 2017.

We got as far as Turkiye before we had to return and are looking forward to exploring Eastern Turkiye and perhaps Georgia next year.
We've met people who toured Iran and Syria last year but it helps if you aren't English.

Some ship their van to tour Canada and/or the USA and South America.
