Even discharge and recharge of batteries

I've seen a few boats where the cables from a large domestic bank were limiting the max current demand on the standard puny alternators on a lot of marine engines.
Yes, I’m sure that’s the case but it was clear that the builder of my boat was never going to let that happen with a 95mm2 cable; a 16mm2 cable would have been more than adequate.

My KS Energy's, again slightly different ages, do the same as the OP, despite running through bus bars/cable lengths etc. I'm beginning to suspect that the BMS on the newer one might be a slightly different version. I'm too old to start worrying about it now.

Well that would be disappointing if that’s the result after I have done the busbar solution.

Does it really matter if the two batteries have a different discharge / recharge rate?
