No point wasting talented UK artists’ time and talent on it any longer…or whatever funds are contributed, for that matter. We should pull out and hold our own, fair, competition.

Is it the "talent" that is the issue? The UK entry was dire and it's eventual score reflected this.

Frankly, after Brexit, we should no longer enter as it's not a singing competition any more and has not been for years. Its an EU political joke and we get humiliated every year regardless of whether our entry is any good or not!

What exactly has the EBU got to do with the EU?

If your not able to win a competition redefine the rules limit the entries until the one you want wins!
That seems very isolationist and ultimately concerning, it's been tried before I think from 1932 to 1945 somewhere in Europe!
Of course we will learn from that!
A bit like a certain failed experiment of coming off a gold standard and printing money to pay debt, that failed spectacularly in 1918 to 1921 fueled inflation eventually, but we will learn from that!

We are not popular and even if Queen had done Bohemian Rhapsody we would be near the bottom.

Funny now with a bigger population 7 million is a good viewing figure, morcambe and wise was getting over 20 million years ago with less people in the country.

Sorry, just saying that there are hundreds of channels now to watch. In the past, before the video recorder, you watched something or missed it.

I was just trying to lighten things up. What is a Light Entertainment program seems to invoked all sorts of issues.

No need for you to be sorry, I was only saying 7 million out of our population is not a lot. We never watched it but in past years it’s been on in the back ground mainly because there is nothing else on .
Even Lisa tarbuck was not on , on radio 2 to listen in on.
