Eurotunnel then transiting through France to Spain

She is transiting to take up permanent residence

Who's Splitting hairs now then...so am I to take up Permanent residence in my Moho like hundreds of others have already done...

No need to reply... Honestly...

She's hoping to get residency. Good luck to her at that late stage, but she's driving back 🤔🤔
Indeed . You know you may not rob a bank . So if you decide to ignore that fact , do it and don’t get caught that I guess by interpretation of some that is quite acceptable . And if you pass by people’s houses waving your bag of money saying see me and I can do this this is also morally correct .
I am astonished at peoples moral compass

Sorry to be a killjoy, but wouldn't it be simpler, cheaper, and quicker to just fly down to Spain.
Not much fun travelling in the van in most places with everything either shut down for Covid or the winter season.
PS: I would always choose van over flight, but these are strange times, and it would get the job done.

Do not think i would feel very safe in an aircraft in todays climate,,BUSBY.

France looks like it will end the Lockdown and open for travel on 15th Dec, as Macron said it would if the Daily New Case dropped below 5,000,in 5 days it's gone from over 16,000 to 4,000 a day...

Hopefully it will stay this way

Tunnel is getting very busy as well. I was looking for the 18th dec and it was £249 one way. Ouch.
Yep for us its nearer £360 one way ( inc trailer)

Buy/Share a Frequent Traveller? They've put their price up to £54 x 10 minimum tickets, but even so, it's a massive saving on the above fares, and I've just looked and there are off peak crossings available on the 16th December

Dont use it enough to get a frequent traveller as only normally go that way at xmas time, thanks for the suggestion anyway.

If you shared with another Funster and took 5 tickets each the cost to each of you would be a basic £270 for 5 trips - plus £14 per journey for a motorhome, so £70 per crossing plus £54 for the trailer - you might even be able to use 1 of your 5 tickets for the trailer.

Think it will still work out cheaper and amending/editing/cancelling online up to 24 hours before travelling is easy and reassuring in these uncertain times. Looks like the trailer would be +£54 each way

I shouldn't get too excited, I know here in Javea they are having meetings about what to do over the festivities coming up. 😲 Bob.

For anyone wishing to keep up to date with the daily infection rates then this one is it . It allows you also to look back . We have been told there must be a continuing rate below 5000 per day . Thursday evening update as I said by PM as numbers not dropping significantly or fast enough so we have our fingers crossed for Christmas but not holding our breath :-(

Dropping in Spain, uk and Portugal too. Hopefully that's the 2nd wave waning and people don't throw away the progress over Christmas! We'd like to start travelling again in the new year!

Spain is looking quite good but Italy seems to be getting hammered again.

I wish UK would be a bit more transparent about how many ICU beds are taken up with genuine Covid patients. I have heard from many sources that there were very few in our local wards the first time but they re all being a bit coy this time.

They give no figurse for recoveries or active cases on Worldometer and the NHS website says this:

Critical Care Bed Capacity and Urgent Operations Cancelled

Due to the coronavirus illness (COVID-19) and the need to release capacity across the NHS to support the response, we are pausing the collection and publication of these and some of our official statistics. This will apply to the releases listed here.

I'll use the site that I do Thanks,it shows New Daily Cases which the site you advice Anyone to Follow " this one is it " doesn't...

That speech you Quote was nearly a week ago now...

Since your last post on the 2nd Dec where it shows over 14,000 New Daily Cases, its now dropped on a Daily Basis to under 3,500 so Hopefully on the right downward trend that we All want...another week until the 15th so hopefully it will be Good News for All involved...

Spitfire it has dropped massively in France. You need to look at the 7 day average of cases.

There will always be a base level of cases until every one is vaccinated what is important is that it's not growing exponentially anymore.

Are you checking the correct site ? Indeed they have dropped but not to the below 5000 PER DAY which is what we have been asked to achieve for any change to restrictions apart for the concessions for 24 th AND 31st not between .

I think the issue is that its plateaued at too high a level, they want to to get it down to around 5k/day to end the restrictions.
Thank you . Exactly 5,000 or less for a number of days per day .

I would love it to be that as it affects us in many ways each day
