Eurotunnel Frequent Traveller, how many will want to share?

Trouble with that is you are all breathing the same recycled internal air.
That’s true but they must have filters on the system, though how often cleaned / changed is another matter.
Anyway Easyjet just sent me a message - golf bags for 99p !

So Easyjet next Feb/March £47 return including a golf sports bag. We already have self contained accommodation as Airbnb host letting us go back for free.
We don’t frequent restaurants and bars.
Is it worth a punt ? £100 for the two of us not a lot to lose.

I was lucky enough to have purchased a whole bunch of Frequent Traveller tickets in early March and not used one of them, even paid a supplement for a booked tunnel crossing, how lucky am i ?
Cant see us using any of them before its safe to use them. What happens to my (nearly) £500 ?

They seem to be dealing with cases on an individual basis. I put in a query on their customer service form and got the reply quoted in the original post.
I didn’t push them, just asked the question what would happen to unused tickets. In your case I would be tempted to push harder for longer extension/refund and them maybe find a partner willing to take some of the tickets next year so you don’t have 10 to use up.

I think it's worth a punt. I'm hoping we'll be able to get away early next year. We're booked to go to Gambia mid April so really hoping we can go.

Trouble is, the more I thought about it, the more I remembered the stressful flight home. :(

We too, upon contacting Eurotunnel were offered a 3 x month extension to 4th March 202, but not a refund.

Don't give up, I formed the impression that they will keep extending albeit three months at a time, certainly the person I dealt with stressed to get in touch in September.
The email response we received made clear that it wouldn't be repeated, ie, "As this is an exceptional offer, I hope you will appreciate that we will not be able to make such an offer again. "

I hope we (and our partners) are in a position to use up our outstanding tickets, before March 4th. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Unfortunately you can only add a partner at the time you set up the new account and buy the tickets, you cannot add anyone afterwards. :(

That's the same e mail I got first time, but when I pressed them saying how disappointed I was. I got a reply from customer services saying ' we urge you to contact us again nearer the time' so I'm not giving up, things may change.

Thanks for that. (y) I've not actually replied yet. ;)

I think the rules have changed now Mel, inasmuch that you can invite a partner at anytime after the wallet has been purchased.

Inviting a Nominated Person.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

That's good to know - I assume it came in when they changed things last year which required all concerned to have their own Eurotunnel Account in order to accept an invitation to be a Frequent Traveller partner - as I've always been the one nominated I've never had to invite anyone to 'couple' with me.

Just found this on their site:
Adding a nominated person
Once a wallet is created, it can be shared with another person at any time by inviting them using their email address.
In order to accept the invitation, the nominated person will need to create or log into their own My Eurotunnel account, and have a payment method to use for identification at check-in.
A notification will be displayed on their account dashboard showing any pending invitations, which they can accept

Hi Jock, my second e mail said it had been dealt with by the 'customer relations team' which I assume is one step up the food chain. I just explained how we had used them for years, wanted to continue but three months was no good. I was pleasantly surprised to find trips I could not use due to lockdown and thought were lost were still live on the website and able to be moved fwd. Keep smiling, BTW are you the pair who contribute to 'all the aires' ?

Sorry, but no, we can't put our names to that one unfortunately, but we do know a couple of Funsters who do contribute on a regular basis.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

I received this today after an email equiry I sent to Eurotunnel last week....

"20 Apr, 4:10 pm BST

Thank you for your email.

We do not underestimate your frustration with regards to the current situation and the fact that you may be unable to use all of your ticket before the expiry date of your wallet. In light of your continued loyalty to our service we have extended the current bundle of tickets for a further 12 months. This now makes the expiry date of this bundle 3rd September 2021 to hopefully allow enough time for the journeys to be used.

As this is an exceptional offer, I hope you will appreciate that we will not be able to make such an offer again.

We very much hope that this offer allows you to use the tickets left in your account and that we may have the pleasure of welcoming you back on board in the near future.

Kind regards

Alison

Having 6 crossings left to use by 23/10/20 I contacted Eurotunnel and was offered a 3 month extension which would have taken me to 23/1/21. I replied saying it may be September or later before the borders would be opened and I could not see us being able to use 6 crossing by 23/1/21 especially as this covers the winter period. They replied today to say they have extended my date to 23/10/21 so pleased with that extension.

Excellent result, i will contact them myself to see if they will write off this year and extend to late 2021.

I always use the tunnel as my OH simply cannot travel on a ferry, it really does make her ill for at least 48hrs so it’s a non starter for us tbh.

if lockdown is lifted by September I have sights booked in Spain for 6/7 months and will need a tunnel crossing.

Not sure if anyone can offer me one but please get in touch if it’s possible.

cheers and stay safe everyone

Al ?

I had all of this as well but refused to give in as a three month extension would only have covered the winter. I persevered and asked fir my case to be escalated. Today I have been offered a full year extension and I am content with that. So don't give in!

Just received from eurotunnel

I know that you were concerned that you would be unable to use all of the remaining tickets on your account before it expires so I am pleased to confirm that we are now able to extend the validity of your account by 12 months. You will now have until 22nd June 2021 to use any remaining tickets.

We will shortly be sending a mailing to all of our loyal account holders to make them aware of this but I wanted to let you know in advance. As I have already amended the account, you don’t need to do anything when you receive the email.
