Interesting, we switched to ferries last year as they were so much cheaper and it was the same booking for this year - maybe the tunnel are learning?

We were exactly the same, used the tunnel for almost 20 years and never looked elsewhere until last year when we found Irish Ferries and it was not much of a hardship using the ferry. We are booked on Irish Ferries in a few weeks and back with them when we do our 90 days. The next trip after that is 30th August for Dusseldorf show where the tunnel was cheapest. Strangely, Amsterdam to Newcastle ferry was also very reasonable beginning of November, so back that way to get us home to fly off to Thailand for winter. Between tunnels, ferries and flights I have spent a fortune this month
