A very long time
I know Germany and France require them but what about other EU countries? There are folk on here that seem to travel extensively throughout Europe, are your screens full of these stickers?

Are you sure about the pickerl? It seems to be an MOT like sticker.
It's a Umwelt Pickerl sticker.

Sorry ignore that link. Inflated rip off prices.

I realise I’m likely to get battered for asking this but really can’t work out what I would need for a UK - France into Spain and back to UK trip please? I have a 6.99m Moho which is Euro6, what other info is relevant ?

I was planning on heading from here (Austria) to Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, knew nothing about LEZs until a camper pointed it out on the campsite next to the river in Cologne!
Researching online it looks like the whole east side of Austria are a group of zones so have to go through at least one to get to Hungary, then there's those other countries to research, and I'm not sure how to get the stickers when You're already away from home (there was two agencies in Cologne that issued them if you produce your V5 but guess what, both offices were inside the zone itself, so you've either got to park outside the zone and use public transport or bike to get to them!)
So I think I'll cut this tour short and head back (its too hot for me here as it is, might be more comfortable later in the year!) I'll do a bit more research before venturing out again, it's like as another commenter said they seem to want you to break the rules and get the fines rather than get a permit!

You don’t need anything unless you feel it possible that you might need to enter a city low emission zone. If you feel that is a possibility, then you cover that possibility by getting a French Crit’Air badge ( under 5€) for your vehicle

I've recently travelled to 11 countries in Europe without anything but a Vignette in austria.

Last year drove in Cologne and other German low emission cities with no sticker..... and nothing

There is a single EU sticker, except that some member states have gone unilateral. Details for the European sticker are here
They are charging €32.90 for a German umweltplakette that actually costs €5.95. It's a ripoff site. I don't thing we paid anything for Ghent and they want €24.90. Stay clear!

It's like most laws, if you don't get caught you get away with it. If you get stopped by the police in Germany and you don't have a plakette then its a €100 (cash or card accepted). About €70 in France and €180 in Belgium.

The cost of messing about and getting whatever is required is probably at least 50 euro, plus my time and no idea if that's an annual thing or not.
I've not been fined for long enough that if i did get fined i would probably pay it.

Saying that i got 2 parking tickets in Split, Croatia... no idea why but it seems pretty hostile towards camper vans. Anyhow haven't paid them, and left Croatia no issues.

Yep, it is a minefield when it comes to emissions zones. Both the German Plakette and the French Crit Air are vehicle specific I think. Same with Gent in Belgium. So if you sell a vehicle with a Crit Air/Plakette these stay with the vehicle. A lot of folk think that since the B word, EU enforcement agencies can't chase up driving offences. This is only partially true. The link below is to an article in the Express, so it must be true...............
I think they copied most of it from another website. Basically if folk don't pay fines then they could be in for a nasty surprise later down the line when entering the EU again! Regarding Croatia there seems to now be a zero policy on wild camping, according to a campsite owner I spoke to there a few weeks ago. Don't know about normal daytime parking though.

Interesting article, doesn't correspond to my experience but not to say its incorrect.

Ive travelled across Croatia a few weeks ago, wild camped everywhere and although i got the knock a couple of times, just moved on to another spot. There's campervan sleeping in the supermarket car parks in many places with all different nationalities.
The thing is with Croatia, the people are very protective of their land and even what looks like scrub land or a buy of a slip off at the side of the coast can have someone getting rattled about it.

They're friendlier in Serbia and Macedonia, kosovo and Bosnia than in Croatia and montenegro

I think you are right. Certainly in Istria which seems to be highly developed you might struggle with wild camping. We tend to hug the coast from Split up to Moscenica Draga, just past Rijeka. We've always had warm welcomes there but it seems the more developed a place becomes (Krk for example) the more corporate and less welcoming they become. Bit of a generalisation, I know, but it seems to be that way to me.

Spain has a very poorly publicised system that is in place from January 2023. You have to have a sticker, but I haven't found any link to getting one posted it to you like the very efficient French or German versions.
Switzerland has the 'STICK Air' for central Geneva
Austria has the 'Pickerl' for parts of the country. I think that you now need it for the Tirol, which for many is the eastern route to Italy.

It is probably worthy saying that European states are all going to be expanding the scheme more widely across their country. It might make sense to get them now!
dont use the european sticker link as its way to expensive.
