A very long time
I know Germany and France require them but what about other EU countries? There are folk on here that seem to travel extensively throughout Europe, are your screens full of these stickers?

You would have thought it was sensible to have a Europe wide scheme with the same specification but who said things ever ought to make sense

There is a single EU sticker, except that some member states have gone unilateral. Details for the European sticker are here
Spain has a very poorly publicised system that is in place from January 2023. You have to have a sticker, but I haven't found any link to getting one posted it to you like the very efficient French or German versions.
Switzerland has the 'STICK Air' for central Geneva
Austria has the 'Pickerl' for parts of the country. I think that you now need it for the Tirol, which for many is the eastern route to Italy.

It is probably worthy saying that European states are all going to be expanding the scheme more widely across their country. It might make sense to get them now!

The pickerl is I believe only for vehicle inspections (a bit like our MOT) and is only applicable to Austrian registered vehicles

The EU does not appear to have a standard approach (🤣?). Germany (Broken Link Removed) and France (Crit’air) want you to pay for Emissions Stickers (not a lot). Belgium has a free registration, but will fine foreigners if they’re not registered (NB the entire Walloon region is a zone, and Brussels is a different registration 😮‍💨). Holland trust that you know your vehicle’s emission standard and don’t require a registration or sticker ( but don’t enter zones you don’t qualify for!). Spain can’t cope with foreign registered vehicles, but will recognise stickers from other countries. The above are from my own experience. Try this website

You probably need to be careful in Belgium. We are registered in Gent so that we can go into the clean air zone. It may be that there is a national scheme but it seems certain cities/regions operate their own schemes.

Oops! Yes. They appear to say that you only need to register once in Flanders, but the Wallonia region, from Jan 2025 will require a separate registration … looking for that borderline right now

Until now I had a german one but haven-t been there since 2018. I bought a spanish one in january ,not that we have any emissions zones around here, & before they started giving them away with iTv's.
I have just bought a french one but have travelled extensively through emission zones without any problems. I am registered for the LEZ In London with the trojan horse although I think that has probably died now he has changed the rules ,although they will not actually tell you yu no longer comply , preferring to fine you if you enter

Same goes for UK. If it was about clean air we'd have the same system as Crit'Air but we have a dozen different systems that all cost more per day than Crit'Air.

I registered with Antwerp online. No sticker all electronic. Just in case we take the Moho to Assen MotoGP in 2024.

There's a ULEZ in Cartagena, but polluters not banned. Ayuntamiento installing barriers to severely deter traffic and monitoring (traffic, noise, particulates, gases, etc) for 4 years.
that's nothing to do with emissions but to stop Tam Northernraider driving through the centre of town in a tag axle :doh:then having to be escorted out down one way streets the wrong way:laughing::rofl:

That is a lot of bloody help from them to visiting tourists.

Never had any stickers. I tend to plead ignorant but then I also avoid most big cities or at least the centre of them anyway. Unless signs are very obvious I don't notice them

The Germans police don't do pleading ignorance they see things in black/white. They'll fine you on the spot, €100 (cash or card accepted). About €70 in France and €180 in Belgium.
I've become very wary of European police since I got locked up for an 2 hours and fined 400 Guilders for speeding on the Rotterdam ring road back in 1989. Missed the Rotterdam-Hull ferry as well and had to wait 24 hours for the next one!

Well they've not done it so far so I'm doing OK 😁

Really ?

So, if you are stopped? then what ?

I was thinking of doing the same ?
Don't get stopped lol.

And if you do ...there in the glove box 😁

I've never had them on any of my vans , no UK or gb sticker either.

Never had a problem .

But I carry a pair and a UK sticker in glove box just in case I get a bored policeman. Been stopped for random checks 3 or 4 times now no-one has mentioned anything.

As i have said, i have the French, German and Geneva tickets. Add the toll tag, Belgium sticker, Austrian motorway permit, etc, it won't be long before i am peering round stickers, to see the road ahead.

I thought that one of the purposes of the EU was to try to homogenise everything. Be sensible to look at all these stickers and come up with only one.

Are you sure about the pickerl? It seems to be an MOT like sticker.

That looks like a rip off site to me. They still sell them separately but charge over 30 Euros each for french and German stickers that are around 5 Euros.
