Almost at the end of our European Christmas market tour, started In Cologne, the markets are close too or the benchmark for what a market should be (IMO), very authentic and high quality, we stopped at Camping Berger about 7km out but covered the ground via Dott scooters, very economical and fun. Whilst In Cologne we biked to Bonn, once again a lovely city with an awesome market. Moved to Liege, nothing much to say other than ‘rubbish’, nice’ish city but the market was poor. Moved to Ghent, what a fabulous city, stopped about 7km out and got the train, very easy and cost effective, also toured by bike. Now in Bruges, once again about 7km out but so easy to get in on the ultra reliable bus. The only reasonable description of the city is ‘WOW’, simply stunning and the markets are very good. Anybody unsure about doing this don’t be, loads of places to stay all around €25 a night, just do it!!!
