EU car insurance, for UK car that exceeds 90 day?

We're looking for some UK motor car insurance that exceeds the standard 90 day use in the EU.
The situation is that we will drive down to Cadiz with a UK car and leave it stored there for a period greater than 90 days so that when we intend to return to the UK we have the vehicle to use.
Ideally we would like a policy wherein we can 'freeze' the use of the 90 days and re boot them again as and when are ready to travel back. We doubt that we'll find this but can only ask ! Alternatively we would go for a significant extension, say six months or more.
Finally we thought there may be a company that would do short term cover that would enable a stored vehicle to be repatriated even though at the 'onset' of that policy the vehicle would be outside of the country..... the alternative to the option above will be to bring the vehicle 'home' before the expiry of the 90 days.
So anyone with info or experience of having a UK vehicle over in the EU for extended periods?

It's worth checking what the rules are for the country you want to go to. Portugal, for instance, has a 180 day limit for how long a foreign car can be in the country in a year without needing to register it. Spain may be similar.

In practice some ignore this - I know of some people who just blithely disregard all the rules - but some also get caught.

Have you checked SAGA car insurance. We were insured with them, before we exported the car to Slovenia 18 months ago, and that was for 12 months use in EU. I don't know if they still offer this policy?
