Energica

A friend went to a testing trial the other day & one of these was there competing, what made him laugh was when it was parked up it was connected to a genny for recharge

Having tried a Zero, the biggest problem I found was to resist the urge to blip the throttle !!

I can't get my head round silent racing.

I might have to eat my words here. First race just finished and all I can say was it was proper job racing. With a Brit on the podium.

It was cut short due to one of the bikes going through the air fence and started steaming a bit but the race did complete 2/3rs so a result was declared.

I think there a lot to resolved right now, for some reason they cut a lap off the race distance and laps are being seriously limited for reasons they are not telling is, for instance, the whole of Saturday gets them one flying lap. It looks to me that the engineering might be a bit fragile right now.

You have to admire the simplicity. Battery/Motor and a little power controller and that's it.

Brian, one caught fire in the pits at the TT.
Fire brigade struggled to put it out, they filled a skip with water!!Yes I wondered!
Forklift put it in skip and it smouldered for a week.
As Marshall’s we have been supplied with asbestos type gloves mmmmm.
Yes the race was good, would have been better if Brad had won it maybe.
Yes still a long way to go methinks.

I reckon ALL the bikes need to be fitted with one of these
A) drown out that horrible whine
B) at least make them sound a bit like what they should !

Exactly the same as reported on a Tesla car, needed a big skip.

We've all seen arc welders. Low volts and many amps, that sums up one Lithium cell and each vehicle has hundreds of them. It's just the same as an atomic chain reaction.

So we will have thousands of possible 'china syndrome' incidents driving around !

Something like that. It seems more luck than good design whether a cell generates enough heat to pass on the damage to the next cell. There are some glorious videos on YouTube of the chain reaction.

This shows how much fun electric can be....
