Elldis - does budget = poor quality?

We've had our Accordo 105 for 20 months and the only problem we've encountered was the gas not remaining lit on the Dometic fridge. Problem sorted a week later by dealer. We're completely satisfied with our van. A few years ago it was Swift getting all the bad reviews on here, last year it was Auto Trails turn, but we've all heard bad reviews from many manufacturers products. People spend a lot of money on their vehicles and have every right to shout loud when things aren't as good as expected.. People are less likely to shout as loud about the good news :whistle2:

Hi, we changed our Moho last year and did a fair bit of looking about first. We were kind of set on a Marquis, Elddis based van.
I have a guy who does work on my Moho`s, has fitted arials, fiamma canopies, put in extra electrical and sat points, things like that.
He works for 1 of Scotlands largest leisure vehicle dealerships, and has done for 30 odd years.
At the mear mention of Elddis he completely put me off. Horror stories of damp in NEW vans, less than year old 1`s going back regularly for soaking floors, doors, cupboards falling to bits and so on and on.
If anyone reading this is an Elddis owner I apologise now but just conveying what was said to me by a completely impartial trained person.

Rather than us two hijacking the thread with our chit chat about the step, I'll PM you with a few photos in the morning when there is a bit more light and hopefully less rain.
Can I have some photos as well please!

Owned a 2006 Sunstyle 130 and loved it. Had to fix the pop up shelves the fold out bed sat on with a few nuts and bolts and changed the tap in the bathroom, but apart from that, gave a good few years of decent service. The fridge never worked on hook up, so just ran it off the gas. As long as you carry a good reel of gaffer tape, a pair of pliers, a screwdriver and a few cable ties, most in transit problems can be sorted! Updated to a Bailey Autograph last year and absolutely love it! Not a single issue so far and cruising down to Italy and back was a breeze. Bailey is another cheaper end of the market manufacturer, but boy, do you get a lot for the price!

Inclined to agrea with that about the Bailey.
Changed from Autograph Approach 750 `14` reg to Approach Advance 640 `66` reg. Love it to bits.
From the construction of the Alu-Tec body, vehicle dimensions, layout to build quality.
They can look a bit bland but a few peronal touches improves that.
