Electrics …. Am I missing something…?

I have discovered it has a relay … therefore that does not compute in my head so it’s off to the sparky…😆

Not enough leccy Smiffy, even for that excuse of a horn. Bobbie the Hobby has three Steble horns to wake the dozy bar stewards up

I’ve got an uprated 70amp alternator…..😛

😆

Just smiffy have u given up on this and found an auto sparks?
I would try a bulb in place of the horn to prove the curcuit. Start with a side light then indicator bulb then headlight.
You have the volts but maybe not enough amps for the load as has been said.

It could well be the fuse blown. Shows ok on meter as it as a slight feed but when current is required it dies.

The biggest problem you have is using a multimeter. Use a 21w flasher bulb as a test lamp to prevent misleading results. A multimeter is of very little use when faulting circuits carrying more than a few milliamps.

I'm going from memory here (and a bad 1 at that) but I think old minis work with a live at the horn and no earth and the horn button actually makes the earth circuit when pressed

I’m going to have another fiddle with my horn today (‘that’ll please Badknee) as the sparky’s is closed ….

Isn’t it amazing what fiddling with your horn can produce, all fixed..😁 it was a dodgy connection in the wiring loom behind the little dashboard, I found it by taping the horn button down while fiddling with anything and everything and it sounded when I bent some wires there..👍🏼

I’ve noticed a few other wires are brittle so it may need a new complete loom in the not to distant future…😳😩

thanks again for the help..👍🏼

Does the horn not get earth from the bolt thread as its attached to the bodywork?

Its always rewarding when you get the horn isn't it
