MH
Swift Escape Compact
Hi all. Im hoping to be off to the west country for a couple of nights this week, stopping at a site with payable electric hook up. This is the first time I will have stayed in the MH and be expecting to use the heating. The MH is a Swift Escape C205 with gas bottles and electric hook up and the Truma heating / hot water system.

I was thinking about the most economical options for heating, lighting, hot water etc. If I use the power options the same as I do at home, IE, use the gas for heating and hot water and cooking, and use the electric for lighting and to power fridge, would that sound about right?

What do other MH users do when it comes to deciding what to use the gas / electric for?

Cheers all,

Rick.

Is that on Meter or all in EHU ?
You pre-pay a sum in advance or on arrival, then park up and plug in. When you are close to running out of the money deposited you apparently get an email advising you as such where you can then top up if you so wish.

If you are on metered EHU and you pop out for the day in your van, is there any way of stopping your chatty neighbour swopping leads until they see you coming back?
Thats a very good point!!;) I shall ask the question when I get there.(y)

Cofton Holidays, a place where they charge for everything including visitor parking then expect you to park in a wet field of grass with a 30º slope, which you can't even get away from the entrance gate, then wonder why you get funny & dump the MH outside the reception whilst visiting.

When I use my 3 way on electric at home it doesn't even really register?
That's odd. We have had visitors a few times while staying at Cofton and they have never been asked to pay for parking in either of the main visitor car parks which are reasonably level and have a gravel surface. I wonder if there's an overflow field used in the main season that's less good or could you be confusing Cofton with nearby Lady's Mile, where I believe visitors are charged to park? I think the two sites are owned by different members of the same family.

Yes with the CAMC version. Using the app you can start, pause or stop the supply from your bollard. It seems quite well thought out. With the ones I have come across on CLs someone might be able to sneak their lead onto your connection. You could take a meter reading on a phone camera before going out and confront your neighbours but not much goes unnoticed on a camp site.
