Electric Motorhomes at Scale, Can't be Far Away Now.

Why can't the world do both? There's a constant demand that we should just carry on as before because it's cheaper is it really? It sounds very much like the same people would have liked to continue pollution like we had in the 1970,s and ought to just pump raw sewage in the sea as it's going to cost more to treat it. What an unpleasant country to live in.
What makes you think we are not pumping raw sewage into the sea now ? Or into our rivers ?

Rapid chargers have a place, but I agree that it's something people have become obsessed by. When the vast majority of the time, you'll use slower Destination chargers. Rapid chargers are only really needed for long road trips, which are pretty rare.

The CEO of Lucid agrees.
For most car drivers yes but I don’t think that is the case for most motorhome scenarios - fast chargers really aren’t that fast and I don’t see many caravan sites welcoming overnight charging (for a while at least) so rapid charging may be the way to go for any early adopters - if they can find one that they can fit on of course.

I think that diesel vans are going to be in demand for some time and if production new diesel vans is halted I suspect that there will be a market for reconditioning diesel vans will emerge as we wait for longer range electric vans to emerge. My business operates in the exhibition sector, two vans, several journeys a week all covering in excess of 300 miles a day so rapid charging will be a necessity if I go electric hence my concerns about battery degradation, for me it’s diesel or go electric and lease instead of buying I guess.

Same here - DPD delivery man has to wrap up as he cant put heater on, he reckons 80 miles of stop start journeys in his 100% electric…

Mind you ‘Eric’ used to manage in 1971 to deliver all the milk on his round….

But Ernie (Bennie Hill) did not manage it becase he used to stop at Sue's for ..........

So how much is already baked in? Any ideas at all from anything anyone has read?

And given that it's going to increase for most of this century, any authoritative projections at all of the difference that it makes?
We can try, and we obviously will try. It's a political process that has built up a head of steam.

I think there are many reasons why we are likely to miss our global targets by a wide margin. And there are good overlapping reasons why we shouldn't, as sub-1% ers, albeit with delusions of grandeur, be in the vanguard of sacrificing our own economy to our messianic urges.

But that's neither here nor there. The weather will be made by the big boys and we're along for the ride...

We are . Presumably the same people saying we can't afford to reduce emissions think we can't afford to clean up watercourses as well.
