Can anyone, from personal purchase experience, recommend a (small & lightweight) electric heater, for when we are in the van on electric hook up, thanks

Never heard any noise, if it’s turned up and you turn it down you can just about hear the thermo click.
Thank you, just bought one.
Was hoping to try it out at the weekend but forecast is now saying it will be 21° with a night time temp of 15°. (Aguilas)

Thanks but like I said, my request was for small and lightweight
Aldi or Lidl occasionally do a SMALL oil-filled radiator which keeps our 7+ metre motorhome really snug. I’m sure other places sell them as well.

I use a large oil-filled rad to keep temp up during winter months while on driveway not being used BUT in general oil-filled rads are so much heavier than the blower heater like the Breeze And so not so practical on tour,

<Broken link removed> I have one of these no oil so leaks I was told about these by another funster
Also fitted one of these below which is enough to take the bite off (though I would run it all winter but changed my mind ) it is secured overhead near the whooshbag door
That looks like the one we have, bought after doing a fair bit of internet research and from recommendations on various caravan/camper sites -
Amazon product ASIN B002DGTMJEDimplex 700W, oil free so no worries about leaks, and relatively small to shove in a cupboard. It is also totally silent in use, just a tiny click when the thermostat kicks in. We put it in the footwell of our PVC (Trigano Tribute) when in use, it's out of the way. Absolutely no problem with heat output, we have to turn it down otherwise we cook, even when out in the cold last week. In the past I've used a fan heater, but they are noisy. The blown air diesel heater that's fitted is similarly noisy - and it's us paying for the fuel for that rather than coming off the EHU that we've already paid for!

It has been a superb buy.

Had a problem with the MH heating and wanted an instant solution. Went into Screwfix and they had a 1kw thermostatically controlled fan heater for £12.99. Very light. Worked a treat and heated the MH quickly. Left on overnight and the thermostat did the job. It is also very quiet. Now kept on the MH all the time and used if we want some instant heat. Bonus is that it uses hook-up power rather than my diesel! I did review it as well as there are some cheap ones out there that our really had.

Dimpled Coldwatcher 500 thermostatically controlled . Compact . Lightweight . Completely silent . You can safely leave this on overnight in winter on low frost beater setting . Cheap to run . Free standing or wall mounted . Had mine since bought my Dethleffs Globebus new 16 years ago at Le Bourget ( now much modified ) . This heater has proved to be 100% reliable . Highly recommended . ( Dimplex Coldwatcher 1,000 model also available , but 500 model very adequate for a 6 metre van ) .

We use an Outdoor Revolution Electric Eco Fan. Around £40. Very good.

I got this one a while back:
Fairly small, 0/1.5/3kw, thermostat at +5degC upwards, tilt switch-off, 3yr warranty
Tough construction, probably drop proof and good for the garage in winter; silly money though...

We bought one of these type of heaters, very small and lightweight. It can stand upright or flat and it’s really effective. Also has a thermostat so can be left on low all night if needed. Highly recommend!
We carry a similar one to that shown by Coolbeanz #19 but I would not recommend one on carpet having had similar in the house catch fire and burn a hole in the carpet. Our motorhome has not carpet but a wooden floor which would take longer to catch fire IMO. These fan heaters are quick to heat the space but really need one with a thermostat sap that you can run it at a very low setting once up to temperature.

Can the Cold Watcher - Model MPH500 be used on 12v?

Not sure . I have a 150 watt inverter linked to the second battery , for charging up stuff on the move or with no Electrical hook up . The Dimplex heater is rated at 500 watt . It would probably be OK on “ Low “ say 1 - 3 on the controls . Never had to experiment , as instant Gas heating + hot water very efficient when parked up with no Electrical hook up .

I bought this for the bike shed in winter, bit more industrial looking but it's good quality and works well on the 1kw setting

I bought a 2kw ceramic heater with a cut-off switch at the base in case it falls over, only ever needed it at 1kw. Very effective at heating up our 4.5 x 2.5 metre awning on chilly nights and mornings. Amazon product ASIN B07H87W7WX

Heating an awning!!! No wonder the planet is in trouble. If it's a bit cold in the awning, that's natures way of telling you to stay in the van.

We had a dyson upright fan heater on our last van extremely quite, and a very responsive thermostat including a remote control.
