I honestly have no idea what you are talking about. The cable is 2.5 square mm. I can't make it any clearer. mm2 is often used as an abbreviation for square mm. I've never mentioned 2mm cable.

So just to get this right,…..your using a lead made with 2 cores that are 2mm and it is square?

Why not use 4-core, with 2mm cores arranged in a square - connected as a 2-core earth. And to be even safer, get 4-core armoured cable.
