I checked the meter reading today both on and off EHU. On EHU both hab and starter battery were on full bars off EHU hab battery was still on full but the starter battery showed just one bar. This would indicate that both batteries being charged. Is this correct?
Yes if the starter battery voltage drops when the EHU goes off then it seems to be getting a charge from the mains.

That's how it was on mine. You need to have EHU off for a day and check both batteries. Full batteries will be indicated by 2 green bars. Then connect EHU, and both should go to 4 green bars if EHU charges both.

If you put EHU on first, then switch off, the battery voltages will slowly settle back, this takes several hours.
