I had an ecoworthy advert pop up in my e mails and for example a 100ah lithium battery is £279.99 less a £10 introductory reduction.

I rechecked the website in Spain and the same battery is 249.99 euros which equates to circa £219

I am tempted to order a couple through the Spanish website.

Any one have any comments re the ecoworthy batteries.

The Spanish site does translate to English

Picked up 2 x Ecoworthy 100amp at a good price recently.
Now installed with a bit of back up advise off some Funsters and plenty of reading of past posts.
Using a Victron smart shunt to check SOC etc..

SAD ME..
Sat in the van last night with everything turned on for 2 hours just to watch the SOC go down
Even worse i'm off out now to watch it charge back up. :whistle2::rofl::rofl::rofl:
You have a sad case of Lipo Phobia 🤣

I have gone for 2 x100ah because I dont have the space for 1 larger battery and also just in case one fails i still have another as back up. It does mean extra cables etc.
I think your onboard charger is probably a BCA unit like mine, assuming you haven't changed your van. Do you think it wise for me retain that in the short term, could I just shoe horn the new Ecoworthy 100?

Motorhoming since 2011 - now returning after a long break!
Excellent to learn about this battery - and presumably it links into the Victron Solar Charge Controller MPPT just fine - now about this Victron Smart Shunt which goes in the set up somewhere.... is this vital to connect these batteries, or just uber-useful because it links to phone by Bluetooth?

I did that with mine but I have 200w solar and a victron mppt . The bca charger only trickle charges ar maybe 1.5amp tops as it sees the lithium as fully charged . But we are rarely on ehu anyway except at home and thats just to cool the freezer and fridge before we go anywhere so the charger is not used that often.
I can check the batteries with the Victron controller as I have no smart shunts as yet. I do have a Bluetooth ecotree 100ah lithium as well which I will run on a seperate portable panel.or maybe use one of the 100w panels repositioned on the roof.
I am also upgrading my solar to 2x195w panels which I also bought off ecoworthy.

Yes the victron controller is OK with the settings to lithium and also the smart shunt which is useful to check the soc and the discharge / charge etc.

I've ordered the Ecoworthy 100. My present AGM is evidently shot, I've presently got it on repair mode, but don't see it surviving. I was thinking of doing a full conversion later on, but the demise of the AGM, the cost of replacing that was well on the way to buying the Ecoworthy. I'll replace my present Truma PCM solar controller etc further down the line, might buy another 100 later on, could fit it inside the cab easily enough. Meanwhile we can rock on. Thanks for your significant input.

Christ. Is it the product or the service that is causing the bad reviews?

Yup, was all over the place for a while. Seems they are now competing on prices rather than quality and service. A race to the bottom is never good.

Not sure why the sudden downer on Ecotree. Any supplier who keeps downward pressure on prices must be a good thing.

There's a YouTube video of a 100aH Ecotree teardown (compared to a Fogstar Drift 105aH). From memory, the construction wasn't terrible, half decent cells from a know Chinese manufacturer used, and a proper mainstream BMS was present (JBD).

No Bluetooth, fancy app or heating element, but from what I read on here that may be an actual positive!

I'm still using a bog standard small capacity wet lead battery in my PVC, but could be tempted by one of these at sub £200. I'm not really in need of the additional capacity - we manage fine as we are - mainly off grid but with only light use, lights, pumps, fans, phone and laptop charging - but the size and weight reduction would be useful.

I bought said battery about 8 month ago for £214 on Ebay. In the winter months l took about 70 amps every two days, dropping off at a friend's to be charged on an 8amp standard charger, and reconnecting after picking it up (not enough solar activity ,fulltiming) about end of March l stopped doing this and let the two 100w panels on the roof take over via victron 75/15 do thier job. The voltage at rest from charging reads 13.23 that's still the same as when it was on installing. Time will tell and happy with it,
