eBike Charging Fire Risks

There are not many Ebikes made in the U.K. sadly. My Ebike is British designed but built overseas.

Samsung manufacturer our YT bike batteries and at 899€ per 720wh battery I am confident in the build and safety standard...

What did your neighbour hope to achieve by keeping the charger connected....
If not using the bike it should be discharged to 60% and stored in that state...topping up perhaps prior to riding....

Is 60% the recommended charge for battery storage?

That's what our bike manufacturer advised us if laying up bike.... however our bikes are ridden everyday more or less...
We have a couple of others that are currently 60%.

Thanks, I probably ride once every week or two so I’ll make sure the battery is around 60% and off the bike.

Thanks 👍

Aren’t trek and Giant bikes made in China?
Yes, and probably the device you typed out your question too. The biggest brands use China for manufacturing to be competitive with prices but quality is not a concern when designed properly.
