Sorry to hear that so glad you’re all safe and sound.

It just goes to show how flimsy some motorhomes can be, it just looks like a bit of hardboard for the walls there.

That’s shit. Glad you’re alright. Although your motorhome holiday is over maybe you can rescue it and do something else - rely on insurance to cover the damage later. Just get on with something fun in the meantime?

From above photo the white van was lodged under the rear of the lorry to the left the rescue services had to lift the lorry off.
the gaslow bottles ( full )were pushed under our van to the front. always turned off when travelling badley damaged but didnt leak, well done gaslow, belgium fire service took them away as to dangerous to send on. My wife and I are safe and back in uk we thank all the members who contribute to motor home fun .we took on board all your information and made our lives safer and enjoyable.

Oh dear, that's awful. Absolute commiserations. You must have been so shaken up. Hope no serious injuries.

As others have said, let the insurance company handle everything. Glad you are back in the UK.

From the photos, the van does appear as though it might be a write-off, but if not repairs would no doubt be a lengthy process.

Hope a speedy full and fair settlement can be achieved and the insurance company looks after you properly.

If it hadn't folded up it could have been worse for the driver and passenger in the front seats. Looks like an insurance right off. But luckily no serous injuries. (y)
We were saved by the seats the large fridge door flew off and hit the seats , the microwave casing as well ened up at the cab will post inside picture

Exactly the same happen to us in January in Spain, you have our heartfelt sympathy a terrible way to start a holiday, But as been said already if no serious injury then that is a blessing,
I hope your insurance treats you fairly as our one did,

Oh my goodness, the damage looks dreadful, especially how so much has come apart inside that could have ended up with you both being injured by it..
thank goodness you weren’t hurt physically but am sure the shock would have shook you up..

hope you can find something nice to do over Easter, treat yourselves to a nice memory..

Glad you’re both OK but what a horrible experience. As others have said I do hope the Insurance company are good.

The back end being largely timber has probably acted a bit like a crumple zone and reduced the impact for the passengers. Good to hear your both not injured.

Wow…. Glad your all ok, seen a few pictures like this lately, it seems to be happening a fair bit this year..

Any reason why..? On his phone or something…🤷🏼‍♂️
A young dutch couple came to our assistance who witnessed everything and helped us she gave details to police others came forward but police said we have enough we can see what happened she said he looked to be asleep or texting the driver had to be removed from his cab totaly crushed he had a injured leg. Thank you for your conerns My wife has just gone to local hospital has she has come out all bruised and I think still in shock . as not had an accident for 25 yrs . am hoping that the insurance will put us in the same position before the accident

We have the same van . Its shocking to see the damage caused but good to know that you were both ok. If you had been in a car or a pvc type van you would probably have been injured . It's a good job the van just crumpled. ( it can be replaced) He must have been really travelling to cause that much damaged and then career into the back of the lorry .We're you stationary at the time or moving?
Best of luck with your insurance and trust it all gets resolved quickly.

We have been in exactly the same position, our first motorhome which was brand new was rear ended and written off on our first trip out . It takes awhile to process what has happened but you will get there in the end, as said above you are both safe which is the main thing. Hopefully your insurance company will come good for you.

Best wishes to both of you.

I had similar accident back in 2017 , when a refuse lorry did the same to us , Saga insurance said it was a write off , sorted very quickly ,glad no-one seriously hurt , just your pride & joy , remember it was just an object & you are safe & well it can be replaced !!

What a bummer, main thing is you are both OK.
Hope you get a replacement sorted quickly.
