Rally Chat Easter Chester Meet & Greet / Cakes & Bonnets

Well a visit to Hobby Craft then the fancy dress shop in Chester Market and a plan is forming, bought a cake tin as well now what to put in it that's the question.:Eeek:

Well I've bought my hat, some tissue paper and little fluffy chicks to decorate my hat. All from Poundland!

I'm determined to get the Funster equivalent of a blue peter badge.

Think my hat may have a design fault though....it's very floppy!

How's everyone else getting on?
I have a cunning plan.....one that involves eating a LARGE number of Cadbury's Creme Eggs! And papier mache! What can possibly go wrong?

Kath should be fun, not long now. ;)

Helped eldest granddaughter make a cake for her mum for Mother's Day and it was fab! So have now decided to make a Funster cake, as well as the Gin Cake! Yum yum!
I usually drink my gin with tonic, lemon & ice but gin cakes sounds yummy. if you need any tasters count me in (y)

It's getting near now, (y)

Are we talking sensible low fat zero calories cake ?

Or instant clogged arteries no-one in their right minds would eat this and hope to survive the week cake with too much bandy and enough cream sink a ship ?

The latter, most definitely! I've tried to find fat free, zero calorie butter, cream, chocolate and alcohol but to no avail! So Funsters dieters look away!

I have not baked for years but had practice this afternoon, ummmm  :imoutahere:

lol. my Hat is under control have to admit I've had a laugh with it.

Well, my hat has a certain 'theme' involving Cadburys Creme Eggs! I sent an all staff email last week asking teachers to ask their classes to save any wrappers for me if they had a creme egg. Well, the head saw my email and decided to 'help'! So he bought every pupil in school a Creme egg! That's 1,460 eggs. I have a lot of wrappers.....
(What's even better is that he bought every member of staff a big Easter egg! And all out of his own pocket too!)

OMG what a nice gesture

Sorry meant to say HAT

I'm having a proper nightmare with my hat! Have all the ideas in my head, but not so easy in practice. Who said papier mâché was child's play? Mine won't dry or go hard! (n)

at on the way to be finished but only bringing my bread pudding

Polly your bread pudding is legend (y) Looking forward to seeing your hat.

Mine is sitting grinning at me.

I'm warming up the glue gun as we speak....for my hat not the cake!

(Might have to sneak off to the charity shop and buy the one they had in the window.....hehehehehe....) :sneaky:

Well I've managed to burn my finger with the glue gun, hat looking good....til I went to put it on and realised it was stuck to the dining room table!

I'm laughing but I've got hot glue everywhere, in my hair, all over the table but not a lot on the tissue paper or the hat!

AAAAAAGGGGHHHRRRR

Sounds like fun! To be fair, mine is hilarious...Doesn't fit, but hey! Pass the gin!
