early preparations for xmas

We usually go to Puerto de Mazarron, you can usually park in the large area near the weather sculptured 'cliffs' but last time it was closed for some event so instead we parked in one of the small streets leading to the beach, nice and quiet it was too.
Is that the area passed Camping Playa de Mazarron and next to the beach?

Looks as though we will be doing a family ‘round robin’ Either Somerset then Norfolk or opposite way around for Xmas and new year. Daughter lives in Somerset and MIL and Dees brothers and sister in Norfolk. Personally I wanted to be in Scotland but as my Van convertor did not insulate pipes as he was supposed to I wouldn’t trust the pipe work if it froze up north.🤪🤪

Yup, we stopped on Av. Juan de Borbon roughly where the white car is (campsite is shown on the right of the image).

OMG ... I've just realised, if we don't go away somewhere over Christmas (even in the UK) we'll be 'expected' to have Mum all day!

Sue ... why not have a 'holiday' over Christmas at your family's place then New Year at John's?
My family live about 3 hours away from me, in opposite directions, and we are away for New Year.
Today have managed to talk with my sons, Elder one’s in-laws mainly live in USA they have, without discussion, booked for Son and his family and their mum to all be together for Christmas, son and his partner are both working part of the time.
Elder son has proposed that s it is mine, John’s and their sons birthdays within a week in January, that we all, including his brother and family, book in somewhere for a weekend around then. all depends which weekend his brother has his sons. Anyone willing to bet that we can all go, not the week that John has tickets booked to Richard Thomson’s son. 😂
live can be complicated, but at least we don’t have infirm parents to think about, well if you exclude us :LOL:
just seen your photos of Mazaron know exactly where you were. Think they have stopped the overnighting near the sculptures, but there is a new aire somewhere near, have had a gin and can’t remember where oops.

We will be in our MoHo for Christmas……..we are every year!
I’ve got it planned, all in my head, just hope it comes out correctly!

We have said this year bugger it Christmas away We are away from the 18th December to the 3rd January to France.

Paris and then Strasbourg and maybe the med or the mountains to see some snow.

We normally go away go France Boxing Day.

Our daughter doesn’t beileve in the big man anymore. My mum is now on her own but now doesn’t celebrate / wants anything to with it and has booked herself into a cottage for the duration with my sister. ….

Following on from my decision to spend this christmas away in my Motorhome i have been doing some advanced preperations. Which i have to say is very unlike me. I have placed an order with the butcher for meat. I am going to cook the turkey and gammon before i depart on christmas eve and put in the fridge. Today i have ordered myself a bottle of rum and a bottle of 12 year old fittercairn single malt. I havnt been this organised for many a year. It is helped with not having to buy presents. I have even planned where i will do the final food shop as well. This is all quite scary as we are not out of november yet.
have you booked the camp site ?

Spoke too soon .. he bought a Turkey crown yesterday! :giggle: However he's still adamant that we'll be away from home for Christmas ... gawd knows where though!

With all that meat onboard do not take the roads to cross the water to any part of the EC.
