E5573 MIFI Deal back on at Carphone Warehouse for £20 .... QUICK!!!!

Have just ordered one of these....

Did not have a clue about MiFi before I read this thread and really appreciate all the knowledge and experience from the various posters.

Looks a cracking deal and will be cancelling my contract tomorrow....

So much knowledge and help on this site,...

Thanks all!!

Ok the mifi arrived today and I've cancelled the contract no problems. I just said I'd got it for my holidays so only needed the month and they seemed ok with that. I'm trying it out now and its asking for my network security key. I've tried every number I can find but it isn't happy. Can you tell me which number it wants please? Great deal Minky girl by the way very grateful. Thanks

The security key is on the inside of the device - on the lid.

Steve

Thanks I've just found it and got it working. Sorry to be so gormless but how do you know how much data you've used. As you can tell I'm a mifi virgin.

2 options; you either logon to your account with the sim provider who will provide the info or get the App Huawei HiLink which allows you to monitor and change settings. You have to zeroise the App each time you add extra data as it is accumulative.

Just ordered and then cancelled but I have just had the e-mail confirmation and it stated there is an £8:99 charge for doing so. Has everyone had this charge ?

If they're ONLY charging you the contract cancellation charge and NOT the £20 then you're quids in!

Now read the email properly. It said if you want to unlock then go to such and such web site. This can take 10 days and carries a charge of £8:99. :giggler:

Ordered today tried to phone and cancell keeps asking for Mobil no what number do I give or do I wait to receive mifi?

The number will be on the packing slip and on the box which comes with the device. I waited for this. Do not know if it is possible to find number before you receive it.

It was possible to cancel the ones that came with the ID sim before receipt as they emailed the phone number in advance, but I don't think EE send anything at all out. If you can get through the 'auto' system when you ring without a number you should be able to cancel it otherwise you'll need to wait until you get it.

Phone number is on carphone warehouse receipt. It should only take the next day to arrive so you can cancel then. Absolutely no hassle.

Hubby seems to think they've forgotten to set-up one of the DDs for the first month's payment on one of our units ....

Picked one up at our local CPW today, have cancelled no problem, set it up and just waiting on it getting activated. (y)

It can but it will cost you a packet! Didn't you get a '3' sim?

No we got a new SIM with it @Minxy Girl the-new deal was with EE
Yes I know the mifi itself came with an 'EE' sim, but that was just what was supplied (previous deals came with the 'ID' sim), that's why I posted on this threads (and others) about getting a '3' sim for use abroad - see my post #4 on this thread.

You can get a 'data add-on' to use abroad for a cost of £3 a day for 50mb, possibly longer but you need to try to connect to EE first to see what data options it offers you.

An alternative is to see if you can get a cheap Spanish sim to use instead.

I got mine today, thanks for the heads up Jock. Tried to cancel today but they were insisting that I have a pay as you go and there was nothing to cancel so I will go into the shop tomorrow.
On another note what if anything do I need to activate when I take it abroad.

Greame, just use the EE sim that it comes with whilst in the UK. In the meantime, go into the Three Store, and find the much reduced sims for tablets and dongles (12Gb or 12 x months for thirty quid). When activating the Three sim, adjust the settings for roaming. (y).

Cheers,

Jock. :)

For those of us who've purchased one of these Huawei e5573 mifi units I've uploaded a pdf version of the Quick Start Guide to the Resources Area. Easier to read (hopefully) than the wee booklet!

To double confirm, it is an unlocked unit. I've stuck a 3 data sim in it and it works fine.(y)

I have installed the 3 sim and getting wifi, for using it abroad do I just go into the Hauwei site and enable data roaming as Jock has said above or do I need to contact 3 to say I want to use it abroad?

Something definitely amiss there as they come through very quickly - have you been in touch with Carphone Warehouse and EE to make them aware so you don't get charged for the month or subsequent months either?

Had several calls to car phone warehouse I had a delivery date didn't turn up so they left it to Dpd to investigate, had my EE bill and phoned and cancelled my contract I think I have just had bad luck,

OK Called 3 and spoke to Sandeep who told me to wait until I get to France to enable data roaming,is this correct? I thought I should do it before I left, confused wiv all this new technology.
