Just checked ours for the second time today. It’s registered and taxed. Just need a V5C and we are on our way.

I am sure once it's registered and taxed you are good to go. Of course and insured.

Went onto the system it was all there ,but we have personal platesxthat we held on retention that will be going on .

I would nit do the cherished transfer until you return from your non-cancellable travels if you need a V5 fir those travels

Monkeynuts2215, I concur with the above advice. Just get yourself off on holiday with your current Reg No and V5 to match, and enjoy yourselves.

When back home and not using your new MH for foreign travels, then sort out the private plates when there is no rush to get them done.

Just been told by DVLA my v5 is on its way I can now drive it after buying the motorhome on the 17th June.
Very good of them to tax it from the 1st of June when it was not allowed on the road.

Same here. We lost all of July tax as ours was not registered until 10th ish Aug.

Yes, I too was swindled out of a months tax as m/h registered from 9th. August yet taxed from 1st. July. Mind, I thought I would have been accused of being ‘too Yorkshire with my brass’ if I had mentioned that in my earlier post !

It's not the money. It's the principle of the complaint.
If they didn't deal with the vehicle documentation until July, and have told countless others not to use the vehicle
without the necessary documentation, why should they take the money in June.

They can’t take tax form something that’s not even registered. I would demand they tax from registering date.

We did lose July tax as the van was not registered until Aug 10th ish. Application was received by DVLA on 7th July. No biggy, not bovvered.
