DVLA serious problem

Yes. :giggle: I've only got my husbands word for it that he actually received an email. :rolleyes: But I've searched everywhere and can't find it.
Is there somewhere he might have safely put the recorded delivery receipt ? Pocket of the car door ? Wallet ? Jacket pocket ?

Ours are on the top of the oven and stay there for years .

Hils and Glenns If the online will not accept your application for a standard licence it is because you have an application being processed which will mean DVLA will have found your application so you could contact them again to see what stage you are at.
I would check the online application again ,but assume that you have paid for the D4 driver medical if it's booked tomorrow. He must have received the renewal reminder/application from the DVLA early August at least if it's his second renewal ,and if Glenn has any medical issues will have a reference no with a medical form that you need to check on the application on the phone,if you can get through.

Blimey Carolyn. We're talking about Glenn here. :LOL: He went for the medical when we were en route to Anthea's do. Then we went on to Lyndon top. After a few days I asked if he'd sent it off. He hadn't because he hadn't got an envelope. From memory I think he went to a post office got an envelope and sent it off while we were away. Hence we didn't photocopy it. 😢 I think the receipt if it still exists is somewhere in the van.

I didn’t realise until very recently that my gmail junk mail empties after a month automatically. gmail isn't my primary email so I’m not sure why it’s set up like this but I nearly missed something important. I’m trying to check it more regularly until I can ask a child to sort it! No consolation but maybe Glenn did see it and it’s now gone, would explain why searching can’t find it.

:doh::laughing:
This time I will keep track of all the paper work. (y)
Best way.:laughing:
I think it must be the same with all government departments, my wife as been waiting fifteen weeks for her deceased sisters probate to be sorted,it states on the application it should take up to eight weeks.We think they are working from home ,she rang them last week and she is 100% sure the t--t was still in bed as he had a job to string a sentence together.
I think many have been waiting for very long times. 9 months seems to ring a bell for the average at the moment. House the daughter recently bought took 21 months for probate but admittedly did have problems.

anyone have the phone number for the epitome of efficiency that is the DVLA please?
Still not received my log book and its been 5 months now!

(I did try their wonderful website, designed to efficiently NOT let me do what I need. Takes round and round in circles, getting info on their is harder than trying to get Boris to admit he's a professional liar.)

Don't forget that he will now need to send a photo as the licence has expired.

Thanks I hadn't thought of that. Can't they use the one from your passport?

It's better to send one and for it not to be used rather it than having to send one later! There seems to be no consistency in what they require so they had passport number,photo and cheque when I sent mine in,sent second week of July and they have just cashed the cheque!
