Aha! I found that video incredibly useful when fitting my Proplate. I even commented about the method I used to remove the plastic barrel which holds the lock cable.

Final Update.

My van is a 2024 Van registered as a 74 plate.

My van came from the factory with the vulnerability that has been known about for years.

I have fitted a Proplate external plate and internal bracket today, it was the kind of task that I dread due to the possibility of breaking bits of plastic and loosing bits into dark recesses, but I am pleased to say that with the aid of Activecampers Youtube video have completed the task without much of an issue.
