Ducato ECU airbag unit

I hace decided not to risc using a scanner to reset the the codes. So, a second, probably more useful question is ...

If I buy a 'new' airbag ECU unit at about £350 will it be more tolerant to the voltage fluctuations?

Does anybody have any experience of having a new unit fitted?

Your old unit might be resettable by someone like crashdata.
If you buy a new unit it will need coding to the vehicle, might cost the same as buying the software.
If crashdata reset your ecu it willnot need coding tothe vehicle.
Are new ecu more reliable? No idea but I hope so having just bought one!

Just ordered a new one for £209, will have to send both off to Crashdata to have the new one paired up to the van and that’s £108.

That makes two of us. I got mine fom Coastal Motorhomes. They seem to have some back in stock.

It beggars belief. How many Funsters have suffered this airbag ECU failure?
Another one here! 2017 MoHo with 9,000 miles on it. Like others, batteries kept properly topped up, 2 new leisure batteries fitted this year, solar panel fitted.

I didn't get to where I am now by reading all the posts Brian .........

PS for the OP. Try a Fiat Pro dealer, just lie back grit your teeth and pretend you are enjoying it.
If this is sex, I think it's boring ... It's the grit in my teeth that turns me off; sticks under my dentures ... 🤣🤭

At this point nothing to lose so opened the ecu. On the pcb are some bare tracks that make contact with the case when lid screwed on. Cleaned these areas with my best hanky.
Refitted and ok for 5 mins, fault not reappeared. Coincidence maybe or perhaps it will be back next time engine is started.
Cost 50 euro for software, £12 for adapter leads, already had elm327 connector.
Reading others posts it seems some have multiple fault codes so perhaps having just one fault code is unusual.

Did the fault reappear?

Cheers
Red.
