Ducato base - first service, near Cardiff.

Hi fom Cardiff.

The Facebook Group for the storage site carries many reccomendations fo Stars.

Personallt I used a small, personal garage close to the storage site;

Although listed as a Mercedes specialist, he services all brands and has different rates for different.

He will also turn his hand to fixing simple faults in the habitation area.

Ross is a mechanic over a technician, her likes to fix things over lifting a box out and plugging a new one in.

Ah, it's a small world, I was there yesterday with my Merc 4x4. Yes good guys and probably the closest to the Blue storage. Don't know why I never thought of them for motorhome service, possibly assumed they were just Merc specialists. I always used Stars for my work Transit, they seem very knowledgeable on commercials, I know they service all the DPD vans.

Out of curiosity, which garage are you going to use?
I am planning to use Stars garage in Cardiff. They have been incredibly helpful and have given me confidence they will do a good job.

They are close but I still avail myself of free transfer back and fore to Blue to recover the van or car whichever is not in for service!

Also if it's my car, only a Renault I like that I can drop the car off, get a few days away in the van and leave the car at the garage.

Try Yapps garage Llanishen. Cardiff. They're Fiat dealers and service motorhomes.

Adams Morley Ltd, did ours for £199. The service reception guy asked how many miles was on the clock, I told him only 8500 , he said that’s pretty low so I recon you only need the short 1st service, oil change, filter, and a quick check over.
Having been in the motor trade for 50 years I was happy with this and having the service book stamped by a Fist dealer.

Not referring particularly to OP's quest in Wales, but I have always used commercial van garages for the MH. I have a very good one in Poland that I was recommended to by a guy who ran several vans.

Van companies do not expect to pay main dealer prices.

I pay about £150-200 for basic servicing and even with cam belt change it only came to £400 something. At 17 years my MH does need some parts from time to time ,e.g. wheel bearing and the usual brake pads etc.

Our Rapido is based on a Fiat Ducato 2.3 and have used 'Newport Transport' garage for the last 10 years for both MOT's and servicing. Excellent service and reasonably priced too.
