I have a 2009 Ducati 130. For oil changes I have always used the recommended Selinia WR 5W-40 and bought it from Shop 4 parts that sell all items Fiat and Alfa.
It's currently showing this item as out of stock and the new recommend replacement with the added tag line of pure power has doubled the price.
I've looked on many sites and many return the recommendation of using 5W-30. On one occasion when the van was at the garage I asked them to change the oil for convenience and believe they used 5-30.
What are people's thoughts?
I thought this engine was 5-40 then 5-30 when they went to Euro5 with DPF. I welcome your comments.

The 996 "ducati" is my favourite.

But, I suspect your ducato is what you need information about?

Like car parts & oil, manufacturers like fiat don't make any parts but they assemble the parts which are made to a specification which they dictate.
The same with oil which is fiat 9.55535-DS1 (euro 6) Fiat 9.55535-S1 (euro 5)

As long as the oil conforms to manufacturers specification for that year, then the quality of the the oil is guaranteed by oil manufacturer.

Hope this helps?

They've probably stopped producing it and the new spec is low ash ACEA C2/C3 for DPF equipped vehicles which you don't require . The spec for yours is ACEA A3/B 4, and for everyday purposes there's little difference between 5w-30 and 5w-40 unless you intend touring in extreme temps. I would go for something like Petronas Syntium 3000 E 5W-40 which is a fully synthetic oil for Euro 4 vehicles. https://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-218902...0-e-5w-40-fully-synthetic-car-engine-oil.aspx

Ours is the Euro 5 2014 2.3 150 but we initially had it serviced by Fiat Professional until it was 5 years old and they always used Fuchs Titan, not Selenia. I asked for some Selenia and they said they’d have to order it in.
I use Fuchs Titan now I do it myself, ordered from Opie Oils, their website tells you which grade if you put your vehicle details in. For ours it’s 5w 30.

Try Smith and Allan on google. They are oil blenders who many classic car owners use. I use them for my Volvo which requires a low cash 0-20! They will supply to OEM spec. Sorry can't post a link on my phone!

If my MH was on a Ducati it would either go really quick, or break down a lot - more likely both…

Most of my life in one form or another
I use these when getting service parts.
If in any doubt, give them a ring , always been very helpful and efficient.
