Bailey approach adva
Exp
I am a newbie
Can anyone please help we can't get our drop down bed on Bailey approach advance 655 to come down, press button struggling to send power. Please help taking our grand children away really need it 😢.
Many thanks

Reach behind and manually press the limit microswitch. They oxidise and that stops the mechanism from working. We had exactly this problem on our Bailey van. The dealer did his best but clearly didn't know about switches with wiped contacts. After the first time it happened I became wise to the problem and when it happened again a few manual operations of the switches cleared the oxide and it worked again.

I had a bailey approach. There was a small bung under one of the lockers
When removed, you could put a socket ?(13mm I think). It needed an extension and a drill. By hand, the gearing is so low it would take forever to move it

Does the bed come down at all? We had a similar issue in our Benimar where it came down a few inches but then got stuck. Found out that Benimar only used about 15mm screws to attach the track. Took the offending screw out and bed came down fine.

Lowered it down by hand, it was a twisted strap the fabric one was very ridged now these blocks are out of line and the black straps are a bit slack I have been up on it taking these photos feels strong enough. Will keep trying with it. Thanks

Hi
The click is the solenoid, which means there is power to the solenoid, there are usually 2 fuses, possibly 15amp and a 20 amp I am sure it is probably one of the fuses, it did happen to me on my Autotrail

Jusrmt seemed obvious to me they would supply one they do in German vans with electric beds.

Is there anywhere you can attach something to wind the bed up & down. It may be a hex shaped hole where a Alan key type handle fits.
Sadly that's not always the case as we recently discovered. Our 2021 Niesmann Arto has an electric drop down overcab bed that has failed (fortunately in the up position). There is no manual override only an 'emergency procedure' (involving part disassembly) to put the bed back up if it fails so you can drive to the dealer to get it fixed. Even this is accompanied by a dire warning that driving after doing this is done at your own risk.

The dealer had told us it did have a manual override and I am astonished that it doesn't. It would certainly have affected my decision to purchase.

I miss our electric bed
I don't miss mine lol. My frankia had 2. One drop down and the rear transverse over the garage was also electric height adjustable. Pain in the arse it was. Always getting stuck in down position and had to crawl in the garage moving everything to get to the wiring on the motor.

Electrics are great when they're working but a pita when they're not and usually bleedin expensive to fix. Give me good old fashioned manual anyday

They do come up with stupid ideas, electric this, electric that

I’ve forgot the number of times on the Concorde forum where someone has posted” Help our electric windscreen shutter is stuck in the down position” instead of having an easy manual pull down one they electrify anything and everything.

Yes the screen on that N&B I'm buying is electric , I haven't seen it work yet but the switch for it is on the passenger side which is stupid. I hope it works as winding it down manually would take 3 business days

I wouldn't lubricate it, you'll end up getting oil/grease everywhere.
The guides only keep the bed straight as gravity pulls it down.
Mines is 5 years old and I've never lubricated it and works fine.

Flipping heck that wiring is atrocious surely it didn't come from the manufacture like that..

I would check all the connection and carefully examine every wire to make sure one hasn't broken or been snagged and partly cut through.
The bed wiring in my Pilote arrived like that too. You'll not be surprised to hear it has a lot more clips and tiewraps now...
