I think I’d be more bothered about the drone crashing down onto my van or the dog crapping against my awning on this

and then there's the drone of the radio'sCan't see the attraction of drones as a hobby.
Where I do have a problem is as the person being annoyed by them. On a campsite in Wales a few weeks ago, some twerp insisted on flying his drone over all the campers on the site. I later saw it on the ground. It looked huge, some three foot across. If that crashed onto your head, you might never ever know what hit you.
The noise was a continuous, all-pervading, high pitched screech, that you could hear even when the drone went so high, it wasn't easily visible,
Frankly I loathe them, and the reason isn't the drone itself, its the selfish operator who thinks his hobby is more important than my desire for a bit of peace and quiet.
I don't think it is possible to throw a toilet roll anywhere near the legal limit on the distance you're supposed to be away from people so if the toilet roll reaches its sort of self policing. If it hits a child the drone was being flown over children way too close. What happens whe the toilet roll hits the drone then the drone hits a a child very irresponsible
I was asking for a friendDid she leave you after that?
Two for the price of one.Cyclists on this Forum must be happy about the rise in the number of drone operators![]()
I'm gonna be generous now. I suppose a lot of it was rotors, and his caravan was about a hundred yards away. However it did sound like a fleet of Saturn 5s lifting off.I am no expert but that sounds highly dangerous!
3 foot width must weigh a fair bit . I would be inclined to call the police as it sounds very dangerous to be flying around on a campsite .

No, illegal to use. You can buy them.Just in case Drone jammers even tho available from China are illegal to own in UK !
I stand corrected but that was the information I had. Possibly it changed or never got passed ?no. the difference is the req for CAA operator number between camera and not. thats it.
Sadly you are correct. He is also required to be registered by the CAA and have his registration number on the quadcopter. I am registered and insured, having passed exams some time ago. It is also illegal to fly on land that you do not own without the owners consent, with various distance and height regulations.Yesterday evening one of our VW Camper brethren decide to fly his Drone ( not a small one ) from his camper and proceeded to fly it over the camp site. Take off and landing was within 15 ft of 2 other units with people sat outside them and whilst he was having fun buzzing the site his pet Alsatian dog decide to wonder off past my van off site into the road. I whistled it back and it eventually heeded me without getting killed.
The owner was pissed off that I disturbed his flying by calling him to collect his dog.
Bearing in mind that the new rules are that a Drone cannot be flown within 50m of any person and a 150m of any person on recreational land and the fact that he didn’t have his dog under any form of control, is this more evidence of a new breed of campervan owner who doesn’t give a f@ck. ?![]()
Drones are a bit like e-scooters, both fantastic inventions that could give hours of pleasure convenience and usefulness to thousands but they are both at loggerheads with the public and authority. Why, what is a matter with using either I think they are great.Yesterday evening one of our VW Camper brethren decide to fly his Drone ( not a small one ) from his camper and proceeded to fly it over the camp site. Perhaps you have read thishttps://register-drones.caa.co.uk/drone-code/protecting-peoples-privacyYes I do use a drone .Shooting at a drone is classed the same as shooting at a aircraft. Flying over any land is legal apart from restricted zones. The caa own the air space not the land owner lots of people think a drone can take their image ,if low down yes but at 40 meters I doubt you could identify a person these are a 1000 pound drone not 10 million pound spy drone. As for not controlling their dog that’s a different issue https://www.caa.co.uk/Consumers/Unmanned-aircraft/Our-role/Updates-about-drones/
Disturbing the peace.Must be me I guess but the only thing that would have concerned me was the dog, as for the drone not bothered.
Well can you tell me how I would do FPV with out a camera.I can’t understand why anyone would want to put a camera on one and then fly
You have very nicely cut my sentence to make it read how you want it to. Well done.Well can you tell me how I would do FPV with out a camera.
Have you seen Tam's footage from Greece? They do look like fun to play with but I can’t understand why anyone would want to put a camera on one and then fly over other people’s property. It just seems a bit voyeuristic and weird to me.
I can certainly understand why people get upset about being watched, spied upon.
Perhaps flying over other people’s property should be outlawed to prevent this. With owners of these things restricted to flying over their own property, unless of course they have been asked by a property owner to fly over.
Yeah I’ve seen it which I partly why I think they look like fun. It’s the camera being used to look at other people and property I cannot understand.Have you seen Tam's footage from Greece?
Property maybe if it has interesting features but I agree about people. TBH I don't believe that in most cases the operator is looking at people - people tend to see a drone and make an assumption. People are distinctly weird about being photographed or videoed - just take a look at the reactions to public photography on You Tube.Yeah I’ve seen it which I partly why I think they look like fun. It’s the camera being used to look at other people and property I cannot understand.
Which is absolutely fine providing it’s your property you’re flying over.
How could it be? How could it ever be?Which is absolutely fine providing it’s your property you’re flying over.
Very nice picture.
He could live in the lighthouse. Some do.How could it be? How could it ever be?
