We haven't gone far enough to see what sort of range we might expect for the Pilote P740.

Is 400 miles about right? Just after a rough idea.

Thanks

I suspect its about choice when buying new.....or it may be its what the dealer thinks customer want and customers who by from stock rather than from options...just saying
Many of the euro builders often offer different tanks sizes as a cost option hence why some have the quite rare 75L tanks. It's a bit short-sighted that U.K. builders don't do the same.

The likes of roadwarrior with his Apache 634 doesn't have a choice, since 2014 they only come with a 60L tank, even if it had been factory up plated to 3650kg it would remain 60L.

The 634 and 632 Apache's were larger and heavier than the Tracker EKS (90L)but built on the same light chassis, the change was about payload.

That again has all changed

AT have now phased out the Apache range. The 632 and heavy 700 have gone with the 634 absorbed into the expanding Tracker range named the Tracker RL but even though it's lighter It still maintains the 60L tank with no option.

My question is... As a cost option why not offer a reduced fresh tank of 100L and a 90L fuel tank as well as the standard 135L fresh and 60L fuel?

I have one but in manual on a apache 700 6 berth

I travel at 60-65mph ish about 26mpg and I've have done about 3k mainly motorway miles in the last 5mths.

I average about 420-450 mile per tank which is a 90ltr, carrying 100-75% water capacity and all my bits and bobs

So anything over 400 miles is good really

Ours is a 2019 150 Comfortmatic Fiat/Adria plated at 3.7 tonnes, we would have been about 200/250kg less than that. We spent a couple of weeks in Norfolk recently driving from our Sussex coast home. 475 miles total, refuelled mid-trip, expect range to be around 400 miles. Our average mpg for that trip was 29, it is usually 26 to 29 mpg depending on road mix.

I was interested to tead Johno's comments about recent Fiat Ducato based AT's.
Our 2016 634 (bought 18 months ago & unlikely to be repeated) is the 150 bhp model and after several thousand miles I have yet to bust 27mpg, unless doing a section of the M4 roadworks at the mind-numbing 50 mph limit.
Our old 1998 Hymer, also on a Fiat Ducato chasis with a bog-standard 2.5 litre turbo diesel would consistently return 30+ on a steady run through France going down to the Alps. Even after a few days climbing some serious mountains, I would still expect to see 24-25 mpg.
My opinion of these new-fangled Euro class engines is somewhat jaded.
