I hadn't noticed this cycle route before we were at Seillans parked in le chemin de gare on a cycle route.

It's history is that there was a narrow gauge (1m).railway up until the end of the war where it is alleged either the Germans or the Brits blew up some of the bridges of the railway. This meant roads had to be built instead and increased the price of property.

Much of the route is on road but these are seriously back roads with 30kph limit almost strictly adhered to for the odd vehicle that uses it.

We went from bargemon to clavier to Seillans to fayence and return with bike saying 48 km return journey.
The only major hills are into the towns from the low lying stations. There is one section of about 400 m at fayence and another of 100 m at Seillans where it is a more major road but nothing of concern.

The first bit out of bargemon is a little bumpy but the rest is excellent surface.
Very little railwayana along route but cuttings revealed railway walls. Apparently a distinctive design we are now well versed in. Stations at clavier and Seillans.

Lovely viaduct just before Seillans.

There are journal entries for bargemon Seillans fayence and tourettes (which is a 2 minute worthy walk from fayence

Another one added to my list. I’m worried you’re adding them on faster than I can get to cycle them!!! Off to a via verde you recommended for tomorrow’s trip. Once again a massive thanks for all your work on this.
