Don’t renew your mobile contact

Gif gaf does some very good deals, they operate on O2, no contract , you can cancel anytime.
Okay if you want a sim in addition to your existing one for the odd occasion but we have 2 phone contracts (£8 pcm after cashback) so will only get a stand alone if we need it in the future due to roaming costs which fortunately at the moment we won't incur.

Virgin mobile and O2 (both part of the same company now) have recently announced that they will not be introducing roaming charges should you want to upgrade to more data without incurring roaming charges.

True, but it's £3.50 a Gb after a 25Gb limit ...

Just had a look at sim only deals. Vodaphone £8.50 / 100gb but you have to remember to claim cash back.
Was told yesterday that Vodaphone were now charging 2 pounds a day in EU.Looking at changing over to Sky, BUSBY.

The 30 day ones work out expensive if you want a fair bit of data, we use our phones to tether as we don't have a landline/broadband/fibre, just mobile phones so need more than those who have other ways of getting data.
Smarty £20 per month = Unrestricted tethering in the UK, Unlimited UK calls & texts, Unlimited Data, Roam like home in the EU. I'm with Giffgaff :giggle:

Yup, for all new(er) contracts:

From 11 August 2021 onwards, if you join Vodafone or upgrade/migrate to a new plan without inclusive European roaming, there will be a daily charge for roaming in our Europe Zone, from 31 January 2022.

£8 pcm for now with Vodafone (100gb, unlimited texts & calls) so saving £12 pcm which soon adds up and will pay for a 'roaming' sim when I need it.

£20 x 12 = £240 pa
£8 x 12 = £96 pa
Difference = £144 pa

No intention of changing my voda contract when it's due in August. I'm getting all my 60gb in Europe still despite being away for over 60 days.

Seemingly it depends who your original contract was with….

I do 180 days in Europe so using Vodaphone would cost me another 360 pounds a year on each of my two phones...BUSBY.

As I said earlier though, you need to work out what you need for your situation but for most buying a separate (country specific?) sim could be better than committing to an contract at a much higher price if you only go abroad for 2-3 months max per year ...

It is now 25gb for existing contracts AFAIK however the daily charge is only applicable to those on new contracts since 11 August 2021.
