2010?
Fiamma safe security door lock .
Fitted on purchase of new van from marquis, from start it began to peel, brought it to their attention but it was never sorted.
Now it looks eye sore and they say:
It only has 6 mth warrantee so basically tough?
Sooo, apparently they all go like this, or do they?

yes on our Chausson did the same
seems to be a common thing, the galvanised alluminium reacts with the paint causing some blistering, last longer than others, but did seem common when I looked into it.
Some said sand it and apply correct etching primer/paint but I wasnt too bothered at the time

I have a similar Milenco Frame lock, still in its box from the day it arrived!
A "wised up Funster" pointed out to me at a rally, that fitting it lets everyone know you are not in the van, as it can only be opened/closed from outside. Hence why its never been fitted, I dont want any van doors crow barred to enable any thief to enter. The Growler Alarm should clear them out pretty quickly if they are not deaf, then they will be by exiting.;)

the police said the same to us, about adding bollards outside the works premises when a spate of raids were going on, "that really tells thieves that there is something in there worth stealing/ram raiding".

I said by that rational, then I should leave the doors wide open should I.

Let them move on to a van without the locks

Worst ones are the Fiamma hab door locks the tubler bar that swings over the door.
I know someone with one of those his van got broken into at City Europe. They stole a few CD's but did £3k of damage to the van pulling the mountings of the bar through the bodywork.

I fitted one to our van but never put it into the locked position, so does a potential thief think are we in the van or not when it's in the unlocked position ?

You could also argue that if you were parked with other motorhomes that thieves would choose the ones without additional locks.

if fitted properly in a metre of concrete they should be immovable.
& as Lenny said nothing much has a 6 month guarantee, certainly not that lock 12 months minimum & 2 years when you were in the eu,

That's why you see attics with the sides open when parked up on laybys.

Looks more like poorly applied powder coating to me. Anything I have have ever owned from Fiamma has been of very poor quality.

If this is a know fault with these locks, why do dealers keep stocking and fitting them?
Fair question 🤷‍♀️
