Lots of jobs have a "tax" as you put it on them . I have to do compulsary continuing education an enhanced DBS check carry a few million in professional liability insurance etc etc. If its part of the requirements for the job its just the way it is I suppose in the same sense its unfair on the doctors carrying out the medicals to have to be qualified!!!!!
My doctor £180 plus I have a day off to see him for a 10 minute appointment to suit the doctor
D4Drivers £50 no day off for a 25 minute appointment to suit me.
Both have same qualifications.
Licence renewed and returned within 5 days retaining all my classes including hgv and psv.
Now, which do I choose?

What is doctors on wheels ? ?????
They are doctors that complete the medical for driving. Usually used by hgv/psv drivers at age 45 then every 5 years to 65 then annually. Once completed, it's then sent to the DVLA.
However, Doctors on wheels are currently not being accepted by the DVLA as previously stated on page one
