Doctors on wheels

As I've posted on another thread, Doctors on Wheels did my medical on 15th June and the licence processed on 19th June, so I got away with it. To be honest I wasn't particularly impressed but, like addoaddo above, I get checked regularly and have no medical concerns.

Come next time, in three years, I'll have a word with the coach company I used to drive for - in the past they had a "tame" medical service where they sent all their drivers. Why not ask at your local coach or HGV company?

Now now. You added that after I quoted your post didn't you .................................

You are supposed to keep up before your were told to keep up, not afterwards ...................:ROFLMAO:
Nope - your post wasn’t there when I edited it. I was keeping up with your keeping up, but clearly your keeping up is keeping up slightly more keeping up than my keeping up. Kapish? :giggler: :giggler: o_O

At £25 I bet you can’t get down his street for the amount of hgv truck parking there for a medical. Haha
Well quite.
My doctor wanted £180 three years ago. I've used D4Drivers at £50.00 and never had a problem plus I can have weekend appointments unlike my own GP.

Off track a bit but have you seen on dvsa website they are seeking opinions on age limits on hgv tyres?

I agree that the cost from the gap is silly but I do not think the cheap medicals are safe. Especially if the person is conservative with the truth. I knew I had no heath issue before I used one but I am sure there are a lot of hgv drivers that forget to mention anything just to keep their job.

I think you are a bit late re quoting Busby comment on Jan 1st which was corrected as to be at least half the price of GP.. re Page 1 ,
Yep, realised too late

The doctors are qualified.
I'm more than happy to have the dvla to scrutinise my medical notes and I took all my tablets to the 'cheap' doctor.
I understand what you're suggesting but what about the £130+ plus a day off work difference?

Wonder if DVLA will request a new medical for recent applications

And if you are found to have a medical condition and not declared it you’ll be in it up to your neck.

Be conservative with the truth at your peril.

It’s not about being conservative with the truth, it’s about saving money. The GP Service is not available at times that drivers require.
My own Dad went to his own GP for his D4 medical, he was pronounced fit to drive, he died suddenly whilst taking his HGV Test. From a full medical 3 weeks earlier to being dead!

So sorry to hear that but I totally agree. I'm more than happy to give ALL my medical information including taking any and all tablets issued by my GP plus I don't only have to doctor's eye test, I go to the optician a few days before to get the correct eye test, not just the letters on the door as in my GP's surgery.
Not only £130 cheaper but available when it's convenient to me.

Doctors on wheels, is it only one doctor????? She was a Romanian . goes around the South East area in a Sprinter. ALL STOPPED NOW no longer accepted by DVLA.
