It's not bad but this van sits a little nose down and the fridge doesn't seem to like the Moroccan gas or not being level , so I was trying to see if it improved it any.

Didn't make much difference so I've turned the van round the other way now .

Who on here still has the Samsung S9 (which incidentally is newer than the X) anyway enough about phones!

I changed my S9 last month it was still working the camera quality had deteriated but screen burn was quiet bad so bite the bullet and got a new 1

That was/is my concern but I can't see it on the cliff edge so hopefully no one else will either.

Stinks of piss over where he was parked though.
Just shows you though it's never the ones you expect . .. old well dressed in a newish van as opposed to the younger lad in the old hymer who was between us .... they'd left just an hour or so before the dirty bugger.

The other van that was on the other side of the bay had to have seen him doing it too as they were sat outside . But all 3 were French and have all now left .


I'm hoping I don't get any hassle later as I'm now the only van here which in other countries I'd prefer but here you're just never sure .... its the one country im wary of

I've now had 4 different lots of locals come by today just to say hello.. and a few have spoke very good English. The last one was telling me he's been teaching his daughter macbeth lol .


It's quite pleasant just to chat and not be asked for anything or sold anything. They're just curious and want to say hello.

If only that was the experience throughout Morocco it would be so much nicer.

Love it , I love those almost as much as the fiat 500 and the Renault 4 .... seat is a bit bigger than the 500 though ... more chance of me fitting in one lol

Yep! We had to have the air filters changed at Sidi Ifni after a few days in a sandstorm at Tarfaya. Rashid also blasted the engine with the painter guy’s compressor to get rid of all the sand under the bonnet. No doubt we will be finding sand in strange places for months to come

We get that dust from Morocco periodically in Portugal too (as I'm sure parts of Spain do). It covers everything and takes a long time to clean. Wake up and your car has been Sahara dusted. And that's after it's been blown more than a hundred miles.

We get that too - near Tavira. Usually just after we’ve washed something and left it to dry

Interesting the workaround on the boot hinges. I had a 1968 Fiat 850 that used to overheat; presumably the added ventilation here tries to alleviate the same problem.

Yep that's quite common on rear engined motors, I had stand off hinges on quite a few of my air-cooled vws

Here's a question for you lot .

How do you know its Sahara sand cause I can assure you it looks exactly the same as Spanish, Greek, French or Yorkshire sand lol.


Therefore rather than what the news tells you wouldn't it make more sense to believe its just sand from anywhere that's been caught up in the wind

So around 12.30am I heard a couple of car doors closing , peeked out the blinds and 3 x police cars outside blue lights flashing .....torches all flashing around down in the wee cove .....spent about 5 minutes searching every nook and cranny down there. . Then all back in cars and along to the next little cove , then the next etc . Really searching everywhere ...

Never came near the camper or anything, but I'm curious what they're looking for and why they think they'll only find it at one time of night.

Never seen a police car here daytime.
