If not why not?
Hot water comes from same tank as cold water.
Our morning kettle takes an age to boil from cold as it has to provide for a cafetiere and a teapot.

Our water heater appears to heat several litres of water when it is being used which is more than we need when making a hot drink or washing up so we heat most of our water in a kettle.

I use the hot water from the boiler in a large pan for cooking veg or pasta, it saves 10 minutes at least, useful if you're in a hurry.

Agreed, hot water will take less time and energy to boil. However, you then have to run the hot tap until the hot water reaches the sink, which wastes water.

No but I honestly don’t know why.
I think it’s probably for the same reason I don’t drink from the bathroom taps at home because I feel it tastes different.
It all goes back to the days of the old domestic header tanks for hot water. You never drank from the hot water tap back then because you genuinely never knew what was in it. Dead pigeons in the header tank were not unusual.
Yes, I know we are talking about motorhomes, but old habits die hard.

And you will have used the same amount of energy in total. You won't have saved any

You probably will have used more energy as theres some loss before the tap runs hot then hot water left in the pipe supply that's going to get cold plus still the same amount in the kettle left over.

True. I will rephrase it

And you will have used at least the same amount of energy, if not more, in total.

On the campsite at Blaye, we were next to a water point. The water tasted horrid, quite rubbery. Ran off some water, it still tasted off. Checked the feed to the tap, it was thick ancient rubber. Went to the source of the water in the facilities, water was fine. swmbo didn't notice any difference either way. Goes to prove something. As for drinking from the tank, never for me.
