Discover Leisure loss widens

Hi

Wow, I just looked at mnd's link. The discount they can give on Ebay over the showground price is amazing.

Make & Model: Autotrail Cheiftain

New Un-Registered with Full Body & Chassis Manufacturer's Warranty

The Chieftain, with its permanent double bed, significant lounge area, fully fitted and equipped kitchen and en-suite washroom with separate shower cubicle offers you uncompromised comfort and space. Finished to the highest standards to cater for all of the requirements of the discerning motorhomer.

RRP: £63,260 on the road

Showground Price: £58,500 on the road

eBay Online Auction Price: £51,995

There are a lot of 2008 and some 2007 models still at the dealers unregistered so they will be plated as 2009 .They need to get rid of them to bring the 2009 models in .That is usually the reason for the huge discount although the price is probabally very close to the original price for that year.:thumb:

Shares in the AIM-listed firm dropped 29 percent to 0.75 pence in Friday morning trade.

As you said in a PM to me a month back they are well on the slippery slope, a very risky investment now.

Just in case there's anyone mad enough to consider buying them even at todays close they are not a bargain :Rofl1: (Could be 0.325 p on Monday)

Discover Leisure

bought new motorhome from them .the service i got from them was a disgrace ,i went for its first service they were told about the heating taking in air and i had to bleed radiators every day ,,,,they said they would need the van in for 2 days if it happened again ,it was a waste of time they never even looked at it charged me £250 ...after a week we went back to elgin scotland where our local caravan dealer fixed it in 15 minutes it was one of the pumps that he renewed cost £26 ill never go back to discover ,,,,,and yes i hope they go bust ,,,dont buy a caravan or motorhome from them the after sales service is disgracefull

Went to our local Discover in Newport Gwent this morning to find it had closed on Thursday night.

Unfortunately for all the people who purchased in good faith from Discovery in the South and Central England they now have a long way to go if they need warranty or other problems sorted.

My sympathies to those owners and the staff just thrown on the scrap heap.

I cannot help the staff but any Swift Group owner with problems can contact us for assistance.

Peter

I don't know about AAA but I personally would never go near Davan, After what they did to me, I simply do not trust them.

Yes: their fitters go to work on horses and wear chaps and carry lassos.
