I Make Schoolboy Errors!
So I got it wrong and have made a quite a mess of the side of my PVC along with someone else's car :crying1: I'm quite sure I'll be paying dearly for that when reinsurance comes round.

Insurers can only suggest an authorised repairer in Thurrock Essex. Their computer says its an hour away but it's all but the opposite side of London. Possibly if the M25 had no traffic at all and ignoring the Dartford Tunnel toll.

Any suggestions of a recognised accident bodywork repairer of panel van conversions in the West London, M25 Surrey /Heathrow, M3, A3 type area? Thanks.

Best and cheapest option is to go to a normal car/van repair place, don't go to a dealer or MH place as they'll charge an arm and a leg and then farm it out to the nearest repairs shop as they rarely do the repairs themselves.
Not read the full trail yet, but the issue with 'a normal car...repair place' is getting a PVC into the workshop. And Mr Google doesn't seem to know which bodyshops can accommodate a high-top van. I'm in the same predicament, in the same area. Only a couple of puncture holes in two doors where some scrote tried to work the locks, so no need of MH specialist.

You could contact one of the van rental places near you and ask who they use.

Took our PVC to Adams Moray in Portsmouth (local to us) who did an excellent job repairing similar damage to our PVC after scraping a post in a car park. They cut out and replaced the damaged bodywork without requiring internal access.

I've now visited AM Portsmouth who didn't seem that fazed by it, other than worry over replacing graphics if they couldn't hide the new paint on the door crease. Now to see if insurer will whinge over cost ....

If the body shop is as good as the other side you should get a good job.

While the decals on our PVC were not damaged, AM needed to remove and replace to allow the respray. They use a local 3rd party to supply and attach replacement decals which were a perfect match. Very pleased with the overall result.

Woohoo, got my PVC back today. It's been with Adams Morey, Portsmouth for just over a fortnight so they could do their thing and get rid of my stupidity. Looks a good job, I can't see any paint joins, it's nice and shiny, and panels all seem very even. (y)(y)

Now to brace myself in the summer for how much the insurance premiums will jump :worried:

Looks like a nice job, dare we ask what AM charged ?

Don't know exactly as the final bill goes direct to insurers. Estimate was in the region of £3,500 inc VAT, 2/3 of which would be labour.

I suspect the vehicle I took out will have been even more costly as there were badly twisted wing panels, and scrapes on the wheel suggest I'll have bent something in it's steering.

That shows why insurance now costs so much.

That’s not to bad and looks like they have done a nice job, I dinged the wife’s car last year on a mates wall front and rear door plus cill that was just over £2k I paid for it rather than claiming. Hope you have many a year ding free 👍

I suspect that the cost of a claim for personal injury in an accident is likely to be many times that you're only on a similar scale to an a class windscreen!
