Hi. First time in Spain. Is cheapest from Supermarkets like France? Are many accessible from hendaye/Santander motorway?
Thanks

Got a mobile phone or tablet ?...then install 123 Fuel, select Diesel, there's your answer to finding the cheapest fuel in your location, it really does vary in Spain and can save you mega bucks when filling a MH tank..

In addition to jumar excellent advice above, Google is pretty good these days. Search fuel near me on Google maps and it shows current pricing and fuel station location… My guess is that they have integrated (API) fuel information into Google from one of the fuel apps.

Just off the motorway and close to Santander: currently showing €1.28 for diesel. https://maps.app.goo.gl/A9KpTjM5rDYS3nbP9?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy We have used this station in the past. As mentioned elsewhere, Google good for checking prices. And in answer to your specific question, supermarkets are often not the cheapest location in Spain.

Cepsa and Repsol are the highest prices best to look put for unmanned stations which are the cheapest. Some local stations can be very cheap in comparison but not usually supermarket ones.

GasAll is another app for finding cheap fuel in Spain, it's very customisable and opens navigation in Google maps to direct you to your chosen fuel station.
It also has a filter for LPG.

I found Shell to be the cheapest premium brand to give it a treat, but if you read the spec of Plenoil and Gas Express it is supposed to contain extra cleaners anti foam etc, the same as the premium brands, at a lot lower price.

No. The main one Carrefour the price is higher as they offer discounts via using there Carrefour card then paying with a mastercard & more if it is a carrefour cc mastercard so they increase price to compensate.
as said Plenergy ,formerly plenoil, gasexpress, Ballenoil etc are amongst the cheapest-
With Ballenoil you can usually get posh diesel for 1 cent more.

Repsol has higer prices as does cepsa but with repsol they reduce if using a 'Waylet' app & payment
Cepsa are similar with there ' Tu porque Vuelve ' card & then pay with a mastercard.
Cepsa are also tied up with carrefour so using a Cepsa & production of a ' Tu porque Vuelve ' card followed by a carrefour card & then pay using a carrefour mastercard gets a discount for each one.
Anyone can get a Carrefour card/app at a till instore.Cepsa can be got at any station whereas repsol is available online

Is there a version that works on newer versions of android?

It works on my new Android Phone...
Weird. My play store says it's unavailable because it was made for an older version of android

Be aware that there is a 'spanish 'play store & an 'English ' playstore.
I have fallen foul of it when trying to load apps in the Uk & it gives me a " not available in your region" as it recognises it as a spanish phone so I have to change to a UK play store app.
That is if this is of any help?

The Gasall App can be set up to show bog standard diesel or the posh stuff.
We have our phones to show the standard on Mrs Emmits and the posh stuff on mine.

I always treat my van to the posh stuff 😀 In the grand scheme of things the extra makes little difference to overall holiday costs and I feel more comfortable about not getting dodgy fuel and problems.

Anywhere you buy Diesel in Spain is going to be cheaper than in France. Its really not worth searching to save the odd Euro. When we go to Spain i have no qualms filling up on the Motorways, also i prefer the " Super" Diesel..

There can sometimes be 20 cents a litre of a difference in France and Spain between stations .
On a 90 litre tank that's a fair bit of "odd euro" 🤔

Looks like that is an old app and Google Play is telling me it's not available for my version of Android (15) so suspect it's not going to work for a lot of people...

I have it installed on all my devices, the latest being my Android version 14..
Post #17 on this thread might be why.

The cheapest we saw was €1.17 at Santa Pola but I’ll be honest we just fill up at the one we’re passing at the time
That'll be the one just across the roundabout from Camping Bahia, is it? Last year I'd stopped off in Elche for fuel en route to the campsite and then found it was a couple of cents cheaper there.
