Has anyone else had difficulty booking a 2 week stay on the website?.
As soon as I enter a return date it drops back to a same day return ticket!
Chat line no response- they must be sooo busy at the moment

It may depend on the dates.

I know Stena will only let you book 50 weeks ahead.
And Brittany Ferries only released their summer 2025 bookings just before Christmas.

OK but in our case we are looking to book June this year!
Have emailed them and they will respond in next 3 days.

You may well be in school holidays by then possibly no vacant sailings on the day you want.

Phone them on the french number they are very helpful.

If you click outward date then (do not click return date at top) click straight on your return date it works I phoned to find this out

Thats the glitch in the system, if you do as paul2 suggests it will work, it moves the dep date to return date if you leave top tab on return journey.
Makes me wonder if the pricing structure is also compromised, maybe its charging for 2 single trips, I would ring them and ask.
Good Luck

Phone them on the french number they are very helpful.
If you mean this number:
Make a booking & Assistance:

From UK +44 33 058 787 87

It’s not a French phone number. That would be +33 33….

The 0330 numbers are non-geographic numbers of the UK which means that they have a national presence and are not restricted to a physical location. Ofcom introduced 0330 numbers in 2007 since then they have seen a rise in their use especially in recent years.

We had a reply from DFDS this morning I quoute
"
Good morning Mr. Stephenson, the website has defaulted to a short-break ticket as, when you were selecting you probably clicked on the "outbound" calendar & then the "return" calendar but, you need to stay in the "outbound" calendar to select both dates & it will allow you to select a the correct return date. If you are still not able to book the correct dates one of our lovely people will be able to assist you over the phone.

From France : 809 541 890

From the UK : 03 305 878 787

Opening hours : 09:00 - 17:00 CET / Monday - Friday
Best regards / Cordialement"

However what was NOT Mentioned is that
if you are entitled to the Over 60's discount YOU WILL ONLY GET IT IF YOU DO THE WHOLE BOOKING WITH THEM OVER THE PHONE.
Seems a bit odd but thats it!
MIke

Probably because there are LD Line boats run by DFDS with a big subsidy from Dieppe council and the discount is only avalible via the French call centre. Not really part of DFDS normal operation.

Very irksome this quirk! I was looking at 2 weeks in September and struggled as before. So I searched and found this thread but still it seemed hit and miss when viewing. And I shall almost certainly have forgotten how to do it by the next time I am looking!!!

For the benefit of others when booking for more than five days the price of two singles seems identical to the cost of e.g a two week return.

Of course I will need to phone to book to get Seniors 20% discount but I am doing some "What If" planning comparing Newhaven-Dieppe with Dover-Dunkirk. The latter adds about £40 to my ferry costs (Single traveller with sub 7:00 metre MoHo) and about 25 (toll free) miles and 30 mins to my UK journey but gives me easier access to free French/Belgium/Luxembourg/German motorways. My ultimate destinations are Switzerland and the Italian Lakes but I like to make speedy progress across to the Rhine Valley. I might book outbound Dover-Dunkirk so that I can make a campsite near Baden-Baden but on the French side of the Rhine after an overnight stop near Dunkirk but then travel back overnight Dieppe-Newhaven. (A return via Dover likely would force me onto the M25 during rush hour. Ugh!!!)

I struggled with the website as well, gave up and downloaded their app and you can get better info there, doesn't take into account the 20% seniors discount though, you have to ring them to get that as said.

Yes,yes, yes
Found out too late that to get the discount (with France dept) you have to place THE WHOLE BOOKING directly by phone and not use the DFDS website.
The other thing I found on dfds t&c's on t'internet is that you can cancel at less than 24hrs from time of booking confirmation for 100% refund.
I realised it with 12mins to spare, told them I wanted to cancel ,,they reinstated the discount.
Last time we were wanting to amend our return date and the amendment cost was going to be greater than the fare already booked. And no they weren't fully booked that Sunday lunchtime.
Lovely people and great prices but you have to play by their rules!

Our last trip I changed the return date phoned up they wanted £136 to change. Left it 1½ hours phoned again, spoke to a different person and got it changed for £10.
