just looking
I am about to buy one of these and my only worry is that if it breaks there won't be parts available due to its age. What do you guys think - is this something to worry about?

Nowt wrong with an LDV Convoy in it's day, I had two, but the company closed down in 2008.
Which means the only spares will come from scrappers.

Personally I'd look for something else.
Plenty out there based on Mercedes, Ford and Fiat

With older vans, rust is the killer.

I'd also seriously look at the sort of use and where you want to go.
Keeping in mind that any diesel van built before 2015/Euro 5 is running on borrowed time, with the places you will be able to go will get more restricted year on year.

(Towns and cities across Europe will progressively ban or limit (financially or by hours) older Diesel vehicles.)

Parts will get increasingly difficult to find so that will become a potential problem.
As far as the comments on pre 2015 manufacturing are concerned I would be less concerned. Unless you intend to make the cities of uk and Europe your key destinations.

So now to put a more positive spin on your desires and excitement of owning a campervan.
It all depends on base price of the vehicle, condition of bodywork, service history, number of owners and type of use.
I am assuming you are new to motorhoming / campervanning and are perhaps not neccisarily thinking of doing 2 month tours in continental Europe.
Fair to say, older vehicles do require a little more attention to keep them in good order, but they are certainly easier to be fixed by a competent mechanic or garage rather than a newer vehicle which may need a main agent dealership to repair and thus, main agent prices!
And we don't all have 25 to 30k to start with on a first van.
True, older diesels will be legislated against in certain areas in the future, but not in all areas, and if you just want countryside and avoiding major cities, then with careful planning I am sure you will get by.
There are still a lot of older vehicles on the road and this will still continue, but if this is your first venture into campervanning, and the price is significantly cheap and all other boxes are ticked, then why not dip your toe into the world on campervanning.
Most service parts will probably be still obtainable via motor factors or specialist suppliers as will some structural parts and small electrical bits, but some stuff may well find you looking at specialist breaking yards.
Don't be downhearted in your dreams.
A sub 2015 vehicle can still go wrong, and can be a lot more costly.
Ask yourself the question: can I afford to perhaps have no financial return on this vehicle when I eventually come to change to something else.
Don't give up, but do please do your research and don't let your heart overule your head too much.

Personally I wouldn’t buy it. While the spares will be difficult to obtain, then getting harder and harder as it gets older, the thought that you may never be able to sell it on if needs be, would make me walk away.
