We have carried a defibrillator for around 8 years in our van, we don’t advertise it but would gladly help if anyone in the area needed it,
We are now looking to update it with a new one, there are some discounted deals through BHF £650 + Vat now I don’t mind the price but VAT on what I see on a piece of medical equipment is absolutely wrong, but if someone is classed as disabled and wanted one for personal use it can be vat exempt.
This is without the cost of replacement battery and pads @ £233+ vat- £70+vat
Seems wrong somehow ☹️

They have to be regularly serviced and checked or they are not recognised by the emergency services......any trained first aider wouldnt use a defibrillator without current certification even in a serious situation 🤷‍♂️
It's the weird world we live in

We replaced our. Battery and pads at 4 years now are due again no need to service as there is nothing to service and no certification as long as the battery and pads are in date ,
We also had the same unit fitted to the local pub front wall EMAS then adopted it after every use it is checked by them to see if new pads/battery are needed,
