Yes it was, I remember many moons ago working on the groundworks for the big Asda there and we was taking up big sheets of meshing under the grass (presumably to knit the grass together for the weight of the airplanes). Lots and lots of glass and pot bottles dug up too!!

Can’t comment on @hilldwellers post, and whilst I agree with @Hettie's Crew regards slagging places off, I live 10 miles away from Donny, and, for the benefit of @GWAYGWAY, there is no way that I would leave my scooter/e-bike/dog/granny unattended in the place. Too many posts on nosy book about bikes getting nicked in the town centre.....in broad daylight..

Yes I agree on all the above!! Although its many a year since I went round there for a night out, I'm 8 miles out

I think you’ll find that it depends on which train you get on for a direct service to York. We do it often for a day out.
It’s about £18 return.

Had a ride in a Glider from there. Runway was next to the old Donny Rovers ground.

We were running late. I approached a gentleman sat outside and asked if he was a funster, he told me you had gone into York. You can tell we have been as you will have seen our fairies! I think it will be Wednesday morning when we pick it up. Hope you enjoyed York, it was probably very busy.
