' Day 2 Test ' What is the best/easiest option?

Can someone clarify when the test needs to be done i.e. do I need to do the test two days before I return In which case do I need get one before I go or just get one out there. Or do the test two days after I return in which case I will order one now.

How do you know there is no check? You enter the test ref no on your PLF so it's in the realms of possibility that the result e.mailed to you could be also e.mailed to Track and trace. When they rang us whilst in quarantine they knew which days we were to submit our tests. They rang us both separately every day. BUSBY.
Just looked thru their T&C's and the below is under data protection. I guess you have to look through the Government site to find out what they are legally bound to do, as these were likely written by Boris and will be gibberish and probably ambiguous will leave that job to someone else ::bigsmile:

15.1 We use the information you provide primarily for the provision of Covid-19 testing to you and legal and regulatory compliance.

Our tests haven’t turned up x

You need to do a test in France to return home it can be done withinn 48 hours of return or 15 minutes as long as you have the result.
You need to book a Day 2 test that you must pay for & get the qr code to add to the passenger locator form & you need to know the return date. This can be done online from over there.

I'm just getting my head round this myself, so may well be wrong, but unless I've seriously misunderstood you need to get 2 tests:
1 done in France within the 3 days before you arrive back in UK - but not leaving it too late because sometimes the result takes a few hours to reach you by email. These can be done in a wide range of pharmacies etc in France, listed on a French website www.Sante.fr (I think!). You will need this to get back into the UK, or presumably on the tunnel/ferry. and
2. you also need to have prebooked a day 2 test to be taken 2 days after your return - this booking will give you a code you need to include (on your passenger locator forms?) to gain reentry. The earlier posts in this thread suggest there is little by way of checking that these tests are actually taken, as opposed to being booked. Presumably you can order the day 2 test as early as you want - but accepting there is a risk that if the requirements changes yet again you may also have to add a day 8 test (or day 5 test to release early.)

Clear as mud, I know, but as I say I'm very much trying to get my head round it myself. If I've got it wrong, any corrections very welcome!

That’s it I have had enough of track n trace ringing me , every couple of hours, can hardly speak English, one sounded like a recording, I did ask if I was speaking to a human being, 2nd caller asked if I had filled in a passenger locator form, well if I hadn’t why would you be ringing me. Are they trained to wind people up, because it’s working x

It's not their fault..Sound like youngsters and let's face it they won't have been trained very well as it was set up in a rush.I think they are working from home and what a boring job it must be.I just listened, said yes and no a few times and wished them a nice day. They are just doing their job..At least they are working but in a job they know won't last that long.(we hope,)..BUSBY.

Just block the number as spam ;)

Are we the only one's on here to have had a home visits from Track and Trace, haven't read anyone else. Hè was a old chap (our age lol) if I had to guess maybe retired police, asked a few questions relating to isolation, how we were getting food etc and how it was a offence if we didn't, checked my wife's passport (I wasn't on his list) he never mentioned our 2&8 day tests.
Then wished us good day.

When they ring one of the first things they say is.

“Do you agree that we can share your information with “

Say no at this point. Then enjoy the quiet.

Wife gets a daily phone call as she’s nice. I’m not so did the above. No calls for me.
